NATION'S INN of Wake County - Raleigh Crabtree — Hotel in Raleigh

I stayed here for two days for a conference before returning north, and the check-in + check-out process was simple and pleasant. The breakfast was better than I expected (the waffles were very good) and there was room service between days. I would have loved to leave it 3 stars if on the second day, extremely itchy lumps and rashes didn't start to appear on my skin everywhere. I didn't see any bugs or roaches, but I do have an allergy to them, so I do think they're present. I think if you don't have an allergy or don't mind, then the price can't be beat. It's in an excellent location and I'm quite disheartened I have to give less than 5 stars, but it's been several days and my body is resembling a pepperoni pizza. I've attached a photo of the current development on my arms. (There's several other lumps / bites across my back that I can't take a photo of, as well as one on my hand that's hard to photograph.)

The rooms had a microwave, fridge, two TVs, and lots of mirrors. It was well lit. The shower pressure was alright. If you check in at night, the front desk guy will ask you to leave a 5☆ google review, which is probably why a lot of other reviews are 5 stars. I really wouldn't have minded, again, if I didn't presently need to apply itching cream...

Totally an unexpected stay but after I arrived, I was instantly disappointed, disgusted, & felt taken advantage of. I didn’t expect this room to look like this because of the 4 star rating from Google but it goes to show you that it’s hard to trust anything these businesses tell you these days. How do I have a smoking room, with no ashtray, but this place has obviously been smoked out? I even have burn holes in the comforter on the bed. The place is dirty. Dead bugs in the light fixture. TV doesn’t work but dude said if it didn’t to call him….lmfao. Not to mention the price. It’ close to the everything, so I give it 5 for location. Nobody had any issues with service or any employees so 5 for service. This room doesn’t deserve a star for the price that was paid, so now star for rooms obviously. For me, this place gets a “1 Star Rating”. STAY AWAY FROM THIS...

This is a very unclean, out dated, smelly hotel. We walked into our non-smoking room (which smelled very strongly of marijuana) and made it only a few steps before almost tripping over the holes in the flooring. Pair that with cigarette burns on the lampshade near the bed and the disgusting bathroom, and that was all she wrote. The owner showed us a 2nd room which was just more of the same ickiness. This was supposed to be a two night stay, but we aren't even staying one night (even tho the owner is still going to try and charge us for tonight). Please do yourself a favor and don't believe the five star reviews. I am all for a budget hotel, but this is definitely not it,...
