Pros - Very close to downtown area. Overall, a clean hotel. We didn’t swim, but did see the indoor pool and it is very large. Small gaming room that we enjoyed. Continental breakfast was decent.
Cons - This hotel is two levels and doesn’t have an elevator, so not handicap friendly. I have a medical condition that makes climbing stairs difficult. We asked for a first floor room when we checked in and were just given an apology and no other resolution. Every other hotel in the area was at max capacity.
We stayed 2 nights. The bar was only open one of the nights. We were told they were short staffed. The one night that it was open, the lady working the bar was also working the front desk and in and out of the office, so service was VERY slow.
“Hot” breakfast items were cold one out of the two days we were there. We arrived to breakfast as soon as they opened it up.
While sitting in the lobby one night, we witnessed an explosive verbal altercation between a staff member and a Manager. Slamming doors and loud profanities by disgruntled employee. I expressed my concern and dissatisfaction. I was given an “I’m sorry” by the Manager. Upon checkout the next day, I expressed my concerns again and how I felt the whole event was unprofessional and should’ve been handled better to keep from guests having to witness it. I was told “the employee isn’t well” and that I should contact Expedia to express my concerns since I booked...
Read moreDo not stay here, I travel all over the state to hotels for work and this is the first one I've ever felt the need to write a review for to warn others not to get ripped off.
This hotel is a glorified motel. The rooms have not been updated since probably 1993 and that's honestly being generous. My room smelled like mildew or some other awful scent that hit you every time you stepped into it from the hall.
You cannot alter your own rooms temperature and every time the crummy plug in system they use kicks on it blows the room curtains wide open and as a woman traveling and stuck on the first floor of this two floor dump its totally unacceptable and unsafe and I had to clip them closed to feel comfortable that someone couldn't look in my room all night from outside the wide open curtains in this window thanks to that. Also not being able to control the temperature in your room when you paid $300 for a room is insane.
The bed is hard and uncomfortable, the furniture looks straight out of grabdma Samara's home collection, and I'm almost positive there was a blood spot on one of my pillows in my room so I'm not even sure how clean this room was between that and the smell. Just avoid it. There has to be somewhere better around here, it's a nice area. Don't stay at this glorified motel 6.
The only good experience that earned them 2 stars is that the staff was kind and helpful and did a great job on their end and did what they could...
Read moreWe stayed here 3 nights in the middle of the week, resulting in a 20% discount for multiple nights. Even though I knew there was no elevator, we requested the 2nd floor, just knowing they're usually quieter. The motel was probably only 1/3 full and we had no noise problems. They have a nice pool for swimming laps, as well as a nice hot tub. We were the only ones using it at the times we were there. There is also a nice outdoor patio that looks out over fields and a pond. We enjoyed a walk around the pond and saw literally HUNDREDS of frogs, all different sizes. Fun! Breakfasts were OK, but we missed cereal that had some fiber (Raisin Bran or ???) There were always eggs (reconstituted) and 2 mornings they had sausage. Fresh fruit were mandarin oranges, bananas and apples) The typical waffle maker, pastries and bread for toast. There were hard boiled eggs, fat free yogurt (low fat would have been preferred) and salsa for the eggs. There were instant oatmeal packs and 4 types of cold cereal. There were craisins, almonds dried blueberries, coconut, chia seed and flax seed to enhance the cereal or yogurt. We would stay again! Nice that it was a bit on the edge of town. I had hoped to remember the name of the gal who checked us in. A younger gal with excellent...
