I booked a suite but got a call a few hours before check-in saying it had suffered water damage, and I was downgraded to a regular room. They gave us free drinks at the bar and offered a free night stay as compensation, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, getting that certificate was a nightmare. They said it would be emailed, then later claimed they can’t email certificates -only mail them. After waiting another week with nothing arriving, I followed up again and had to eventually come in person to pick it up. For a $300 stay, the poor communication and zero follow-up made me feel like they were hoping I’d just forget about it. It was frustrating, unprofessional, and not the level of service I expect from a hotel at this price point. Customer service and accountability are what separate a good hotel from a bad experience. Unfortunately, this fell far short of expectations.
UPDATE: Downgraded from 2 stars to 1 star due to yet another disappointing experience. We were offered a complimentary night to make up for issues during our original stay, but even that went wrong. On the day of our reservation, I received no check-in reminders, which seemed odd. After looking into it, I discovered that the general manager had mistakenly booked our stay for the same weekend - but in 2026 instead of 2025. When I called to address the issue, there was no apology - just a matter-of-fact rescheduling for two weeks later. At this point, there have been far too many avoidable errors. We'll never...
Read moreKing suite is huge, fireplace does time out after 15 or 20 mins, so other than a small timed fire it kinda doesn't make much sense. Wish the tvs were actually mounted so they would lean down a bit, not feasible to watch the TV from the couch, in bed isn't bad but you can tell it's trying to show the screen to a 9ft person standing up. Bed was very comfortable, and room amenities are better than most- shampoo, conditioner, etc. Didn't try the robe on but looked soft, towels were soft and the extended 1/2 kitchen area gives you plenty of table top room if you're like me and don't like to leave your stuff on the ground in a walking path. The lighting and switches in the room just makes sense, you can dim certain areas and turn the lights off from more than one spot. Did get the chance to try the pizza they make all day long, it was better than most pizza places. It looks like a store bought pre-made but tastes like a handmade to perfection pizza. I would of paid to take a few home frozen to heat up myself they were so good. Staff is awesome, very friendly and helpful. Didn't eat breakfast but from what I seen getting coffee I looked 5 star, not your typical cheap bagel and waffle type breakfast. 10 of 10 would...
Read moreThe good: We stayed here for two nights, post season. Good location and close to what we needed to do, downtown, golf and winery. Rooms were clean and didn't smell of deodorizer. Breakfast was fine for us, I'm happy with eggs and coffee. It's also like 1/2 mile from Galena Golf Club which we found to be a really fun course to play. Also, the pool is indoor and heated which is nice.
Downside: Not too important but when we checked in there was a loose clump of dried mud in the hallway that was never cleaned up for three days. But the one that bothered me the most was meeting locals at the pool and at breakfast that were allowed to use the facilities by management for free while we were the paying guests, not cool. Especially at breakfast when we were waiting for food only to get there and had to wait for it to be refilled after the local couple we met got theirs and cleaned the hot eggs and sausage out. It's just irritating and just bothered both of us. Oh, and one more thing, don't ask for tips on the market food that you have for sale that we take to our rooms to make ourselves. Sorry to nit-pick, it's not something that ruined our trip, but it irritated us so much I made...
