I placed an order on the mobile app before arriving at the restaurant. I arrived within the time frame that the app said to arrive for the food to be ready. When I approached the counter to pick up my order and gave the employee my name. I was told it would take 10 minutes to get my order finished.
Fast forward 30 minutes of waiting, I see the manager giving me looks as he quietly talks to the person who told me it would take 10 min. Manager then calls over one of the drive thru runners and says something to her. Next thing I know, she approaches me and asks "What are you waiting for?" My online order, I replied. "What was the name on the order?" she asked. I gave her my name and another 10 minutes from there, I received my order. By the time I got my order, 3 people that ordered after I arrived had received their orders already.
Clearly, they forgot about me. I waited over 40 minutes and no one seemed to care. "Sorry for the wait" doesn't make me feel any better really, especially coming from the poor girl who had nothing to do with the delay. The apology should have come from the employee who "checked me in" and then forgot my name and that I was there. Or from the manager. But they were both too chicken or embarrassed to take accountability.
This isn't the first time I've had to wait a long time at this location. A few months ago, I waited for almost 30 minutes in the drive thru. They had me pull up in Lane B and then forgot I was there.
Unfortunately, this is the only whataburger in a 30 mile radius of Raymondville, so there's not much I can do. Maybe I'll just start going to Elsa when I want...
Read moreI want to share how impressed we are with the new manager at this location. His leadership has completely turned things around. The service is now efficient, effective, and top notch , a huge improvement from our experience earlier this year.
Back in March, the way the restaurant was being run had us avoiding this location entirely. In fact, we even went to the nearby McDonald’s instead, despite preferring Whataburger, simply because the customer service here was so poor.
Thanks to the new manager’s leadership, we will gladly return to this location and look forward to continuing to dine here. They deserve recognition for doing such an outstanding job. (I’m assuming there is a new manager due to how much this location has turned around.) The manager on duty at 9:00am Sunday, Sept. 14th is an asset to your company)

We waited for our food longer than we should have because the employee at the counter was too busy speaking with an off duty employee instead of checking and bringing out our order. It was not until I walked up to the counter and questioned the status of our order. She said that it would be right out. As we waited another table asked to speak with the manager to complain about their order. My wife then proceeded to follow up on our order because ten minutes later it still wasn't out. She confronted the manager as well to let him know how displeased she was with the service. They brought the order out as she was speaking with him only for it to be lukewarm.
