The Redwood Lodge is a terrible place to stay. They mislead their customers with textbook bait & switch tactics and refuse to do anything mediate their mistakes. They advertise on their website that "complimentary shuttle services" are offered to Jackpot Junction, but that is not accurate at all. The smug front desk people will tell you that the shuttle services are operated by Jackpot Junction and they only run during special events/concerts but that is NOT what's advertised on the website as you can see on the screenshot I added. I ended up having to check out 2 days early because I had no way to get around the area and no way to get to the Jackpot Junction Hotel unless I walked at least 2 hours each way. I asked for a partial refund since I only stayed 1 night out of 3, but the front desk attendant refused to help saying I had to reach out to Expedia. I reached out to Expedia who contacted Redwood Lodge on my behalf and they denied my refund claim. There are no Lyft or Uber drivers in the area and there are no public transportation options, so without this complimentary shuttle service that THEY ADVERTISE, most guests are stranded unless they have a vehicle with them. Other guests that I know dealt with the same situation last weekend and they at least got a partial refund, but I did not enjoy such fortune. Just inept and dishonest practices from this business, so I will file a claim with the BBB. Also, the room is supposed to be non-smoking, but as soon as you walked in, the smell of cigarettes was overwhelming. Never again and I recommend everyone visiting Morton/Franklin/Redwood Falls to stay away from this place.

Fantastic hotel in the beautiful little town of Redwood Falls. Very clean! Very well-managed by caring and personable manager Carmen, and has a nice homey vibe with nice seasonal decorations in its beautiful lobby area. Soft beds. Great breakfast, with a nicely furnished seating area that has a welcoming feel any time of day. Safe, well-lit parking area that wraps around the hotel, so it seems that every room has a view of the lot and your vehicle. Highly recommended - I'll definitely stay here again on my next golf trip through the area!

The hotel common areas are beautiful. The dining area was like no other I have seen in a hotel and the staff was incredibly friendly. The rooms were typical hotel rooms. The beds are great.. I'm not sure if our AC was working correctly and there didn't seem to be a fan in the bathroom (even though they have a sticker saying it has a silent fan) but the moisture never seemed to be pulled out.

AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! The pictures look beautiful & it had a 4.2 star rating. So I was excited to stay here. Their remodel is just a cover up! We were in room 221. It smelled HORRIBLE! Musty/mildew/moldy smell! I requested a new room. I asked if they get this complaint a lot? She said unfortunately they do get complaints, especially in the summer with all of the rain they can't keep the smell away. Hmm, probably because it's friggin mold!? I was given a room across the hall and the smell was even worse! Requested another room. Still smelled horrible! Ended up going through 7 more rooms with the front desk lady & they ALL had terrible mildew/mold stench! We were staying at the hotel with friends so I didn't want to separate from them. But if we weren't with friends I would have gone to a different hotel! I finally found a room that was the least smelly... still def had a stench. I hardly got any sleep. We took pictures of mold growing on the AC unit. Our sinuses were terrible all day. I talked to the assistant mgr in the morning. She apologized and said housekeeping has trouble keeping the smell down especially in the summer. She said she would reduce my room charge by half since we spent the night there and we ate breakfast there. What a joke, we had a donut & a crappy cup of coffee! She asked if I was ok with paying half the charge. I said I didn't think I should pay anything because it was SO disgusting. She said she would have the general manager call me tomorrow. She was making excuses for the terrible smell & waa defensive. I said I was going to to leave an online review. Shortly after I was sitting in the hallway while my husband packed up the room because my head hurt from the stench. The assistant manager called my cell & totally changed her tune. Saying she sympathizes with me having to deal with the smell if I'm sensitive to it & she would refund my room. I'm grateful she came to her senses but I'm so horrified they even think it's ok to rent out these disgusting rooms! I am considering notifying the proper authorities to inspect this place. It's a health hazard! I talked to a local & was told the hotel had flooding from the...

⭐ 1 Star — never again.

my partner and i recently stayed at redwood lodge, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. from the moment we arrived, the energy was off. the front desk clerk questioned nearly everything my husband said — from how we booked the room (Expedia, which apparently was “odd” to him) to making strange remarks about how we “drove without ID.” it was unprofessional, unnecessary, and set the tone for the rest of our stay.

we checked in with our emotional support dog, who was clearly seen by the same front desk clerk. several days into our stay — the day before checkout — we were given a note on the door stating we were not in a pet-friendly room and needed to move. at that point, why disrupt us after seeing us and our pet the entire time?

staff interactions continued to feel cold, overly suspicious, and frankly judgmental. when i asked for a simple tool (pliers) to install a personal shower head, i was met with multiple questions instead of support — even though i had already used the same pliers earlier in the week. at checkout, I was again told no pliers existed and stared at by multiple staff members while struggling to maneuver the luggage cart out the front door. no offer to help. just silence and stares.

it’s one thing for a place to be basic, but it’s another for it to be inhospitable.

do better. everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and welcome — especially when they’re paying guests.

— a guest who will...
