Service The service from everyone at the front desk and in the breakfast area was great our whole stay. The breakfast was pretty good quality for an included breakfast. The housekeepers were extremely loud every morning. We had our doorknob sign on, so they didn't ever come to our door directly, but every morning we'd wake up from the banging on doors and loudly chatting with each other. Location The location of the building as far as the town was pretty convenient, right by the intersection of the freeway and a main road going to nearby towns, and very close to several restaurants and stores and gas stations. Actually getting to the building was a bit of a pain, as the road that used to go right past it has been permanently closed off, there's not clear signage from the street, and GPS couldn't find the address, but after I figured out where to turn the first time (at the abandoned burger drive-thru, then right), it was fine. Building It was disappointing that the hot tub wasn't working the whole week we were there. There's a pool (slightly smaller than most hotel pools but it got the job done) and a small gym. The side doors aren't locked most of the day, which has its pros and cons. Probably the most surprising and frustrating issue with the building itself is that there's no elevator. You just have to drag your suitcases up and down the stairs, which is difficult and at times dangerous. We were in the room right next to the stairs, too, so every time guests would come or go, we'd hear the banging of their suitcases hitting every step. If you have any type of disability or difficulty with stairs or carrying luggage up and down them, you'll need to get a room on the first floor. Room Overall, the room was functional, but there were quite a few fairly minor issues. There's a microwave and fridge in the room, which was very nice, and the mattresses and bedding were fine. The door would click but not actually lock, so anyone could open it. Once I figured that out, I knew to keep pulling/pushing until it clicked twice and would double check it was locked before leaving. The light that's connected to the switch by the door randomly turned on in the middle of the night two of the nights, which was weird, and I'm not sure what was going on there. The mattresses did not properly fit the bed, so there were pieces of metal sticking out several inches right at the perfect height to find that out when they slam into your ankle. The curtains ended up being fine once I realized there were 3 layers, so only the first morning was a problem. Just be sure to look for that third layer. There was a smear of something on the wall by the closet (hopefully dirt?), something dried that had dripped down the headboard of one of the beds (hopefully a drink?), and there was a hair in the ice bucket, so cleanings seem to be very quick and not very thorough. The vent in the bathroom was also covered in visible dust and webs, and the light was hanging out of the ceiling in the bathroom. It looks like there was a grab bar for safety at some point in the shower, but they seem to have removed it and just screwed outlet covers over the holes, which was strange. The drain for the shower took forever to drain, so you just have to stand in your dirty water if you shower for more than a couple minutes. The hot water also ran out a couple times during showers and one time suddenly got extremely hot (guessing a nearby room maybe flushed a toilet). There were quite a few issues, but for the most part, they were pretty minor, and overall, the stay was fine.

Whoever keeps saying these rooms are clean have obviously never really looked around these rooms. Pictures to prove what I mean. Now while I understand it's a hotel while "covid" is also still around or whatever you call it.... it's dirty. Let's start off small, shall we.... ok no elevator no big deal however there is also no signs to stairs or which way rooms are. It's a labyrinth of halls and doors, no labels and it's not like the lady at the front desk shared intell how to get around. Let's move to after 8 mins of looking we find our room.... 1 key didn't even work, good thing we got 2. Now while there were no bugs, the room "looked clean" . W that being said, bed made, everything nicely in place till you really looked. And let me tell you..the more you looked the more you saw. Pictures including bathroom ceiling, wall in suite, curtains and microwave and lets not forget the mold...... if you look under the bed, which I highly don't suggest you will find toe nail clippings, so much hair everywhere. (I'm blonde, spouse is bald) black hairs etc.... move the nightstand and couch for more surprises! Now I know what your thinking why didn't you leave. You drive 750 miles and see how much farther you can go, why didn't you change rooms? The lady at the front desk was less then helpful for anything. Let mention the tv which is pointed to the ground too and can't stand up... fun right?! Microwave still had food in it from only God knows when too...... let move on to breakfast, some gentleman was making eggs, which I might add is a nice touch however... coffee was cold, toaster ate my bagel and sausage was still cold in the middle..... seems that everyone that came to breakfast was talking about how they woke up coughing or w sore throats, over here too! And to top it off when the lady kindly asked how our stay was... and we told her the truth, she seemed to roll her eyes and not care... so why ask then?

Update, after a discussion with a staff member these problems occur from booking through a third party website so this has nothing to do with the hotel itself. Wyndham is still considered a third party website. I stay in a lot of hotels for work and usually I call up the hotel desk and book my rooms personally with the desk. This is the first time in quite a while that I used a website booking. I will definitely call the hotel desk directly next time I'm in town. About the hotel itself. This is a decent place to stay. I like the staff, the breakfast guy is the most cheerful man at 6:00 a.m. I ever met, the rooms are clean and they even have a free hot breakfast. They're constantly working on the place making improvements with shows that they care. I got on the hotel website last week and booked four nights at the rate they make me think I am getting on the Wyndham website, but after I get here and do a little math I see that they charge me more for all the additional nights. This little tidbit of information was not on my confirmation email. I'm not exactly sure who's performing this little bait and switch but I will be finding out today. You can't trust anybody today folks.

When it comes to this hotel, don't judge a book by it's cover... The relatively plain exterior of the building gave way to an honestly very cozy and very clean hotel with friendly staff and better amenities than we anticipated. The rooms were very quiet at all hours throughout the day/night, and they were furnished nicely with comfortable beds and plenty of pillows (a must for me). The air conditioning in the room worked really well, which is something I find important because I get hot when I sleep, and the bathroom was nice as well!

For us, another highlight was the breakfast. It was much better of a breakfast than we have experienced at most hotels like this. The sausage gravy was delicious, and being from Indiana myself, I appreciate good sausage gravy. The older gentleman who worked the breakfast was an absolute gem as well... very kind and personable, easy to talk to. He bragged about the food to us as we were filling our plates (and he was right for bragging), and was diligent about stocking everything and cleaning. He was just a lovely soul to experience in the morning, and not being a morning person myself, I appreciate that.

While we did not get the chance to use the pool, it looked lovely! Not huge, but it appeared to be taken care of well. We did utilize the fitness center, and while it too was small, it had what we needed. Two different bikes, a treadmill, and dumbbells were plenty to suit our needs, and it look like the equipment was well maintained.

Overall, we are just very taken by how nice of an experience we had at this hotel, especially for the price! We will definitely be staying here again when we visit Indiana...
