Subway — Restaurant in Richmond

I have been eating here every week or every other week for a couple of years. This review replaces my review of a year ago( 4*). The store was clean. The people were friendly but not as efficient as some Subways I have visited. Recently the proteins have become a little more stingy, plus it is impossible to see the meat selection before you order, which deprives me of the opportunity to change my selection if something doesn't look appetizing, (soupy tuna salad for example). The quality of the vegetables has taken a nose dive in the few months, and it was not good a year ago. The lettuce is always a sickly yellow tan. Tomatoes are small, sliced very thin and mostly just hollow tomato rings. They use every ounce of the red onions, including the wide, tough slices off of the top and bottom. I came here to eat after I found I couldn't eat at Wendy's. I loved my food. I had the Steak,Egg, Cheese Flatbread Sandwich and Orange Juice. I added bacon to the sandwich. I haven't been there for some time and found they remodeled and it was brightly decorated. UPDATE: July 29, 2024-I has been a couple of years since I last ate this location. I stopped here on my way to doing some shopping at Meijer. I ordered a 6 in Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Lay's Baked BBQ Chips, and a Diet Coke. It tasted great, absolutely delicious. I stopped at the subway on Chester to get a chicken foot long. The lady was very skimpy on all the ingredients, when I asked for spinach she put four or five leaves on it. So I asked if I could have more spinach, she put two more leaves on it. I asked again if I could have a little more spinach on it, she put a little more on it and said she would have to charge me extra for the spinach. I looked at my receipt when I got home and she charged me $1.59 for a little spinach and .40 for a cup of water. I've never been charged for a little extra spinach or water before, I will take my business...
