We stayed at the Boarders Inn in Ripon while visiting friends in Green Lake over the weekend of 8/16-8/17/25. This is the second time we’ve stayed at the Boarders Inn and were even more pleased than we were with last year’s stay.||The Boarders Inn is not fancy or ornate, but it is clean, comfortable, reasonably (certainly by Green Lake standards) priced, and staffed by helpful, efficient, and friendly staff. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding…all that we wanted and more and certainly providing anything all but the pickiest of breakfast connoisseurs would want. ||If you are looking for a complete vacation experience, Boarders is not your place; you’d be better off staying at a resort like the Heidel House in Green Lake...at twice or three times the price. However, if you are looking for a place to stay while in town visiting friends or simply enjoying the many attractions of the Green Lake/Ripon area, you’d be foolish to pay the prices demanded, and received, by the resorts, VRBOs, bed and breakfasts, and the like with which the area is so generously populated. Save your money for other thing and enjoy a clean, comfortable room, along with a very good breakfast, at Boarders Inn. ||We’ll be back next year; maybe we will see you...
Read moreNever again. It pains me to rate a business so poorly, but the photos of the bathroom speak for themselves. The "inn" itself is older and cheaply built (ex. bare cinder block walls in the pool room). The carpet was replaced in recent years, but the room I was in was not just dated, but the bathroom was revolting. The sink basin had a multitude of cracks that have debris caked into them through years of wear and tear. Even a top notch housekeeping crew will not be able to effectively clean that disgusting petri dish. The metal taps were chipped, with gunk underneath. The absolute worst thing was the mold growing on the lime scaled shower head. The rest of the bathroom was varying stages of dirty, but the shower head and sink were by far the most disturbing. I arrived quite late in the evening and as I was on call I couldn't relocate elsewhere until morning. Nevertheless, I left 7 hours later and arranged to check in extra early at another hotel to shower. I bypassed breakfast as I felt very unconfident that the kitchen would be any cleaner than the bathroom in my room. I would have rated the hotel lower, but at least the bed was comfortable, I didn't see any conclusive evidence of bugs, and the staff were polite....
Read moreI had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights- at booking 1 room was to be handicap accessible, how ever both rooms were on the second floor, they were able to move both rooms to the first floor. on the second day, in one of the rooms as the guest in that room was lying in bed the ceiling started dripping water, causing pooling water in the room and raised the humidity level to raise exponentially. The hotel team at the time told them that there was only a new room on the second floor, with no elevator as a handicapped person this was not possible so they were told they would not charge for the room, after checking out, both rooms at full price were charged. Upon calling the hotel refused to compensate for the issues more than $57.00 on the room. On top of the issues with this room the other room was very musty smelling, and you could not use the air conditioner with the drapes closed, as the drapes went over the AC. The bathroom sink was a gross brown in the bottom and...
