Budgetel Inn & Suites — Hotel in Rockingham

Horrible horrible room. I cannot imagine who left good reviews of this place. The people working at the front desk were agreeable enough, but it wasn't enough to make up for how DISGUSTING this motel was! We figured it'd be ok, since it was just a short stop on the way to Myrtle Beach- DON'T DO IT! There were roaches running around the room, so we had to put all our stuff up off the floor and sleep with the lights on. Room was missing many basic things, like a clock, shampoo, tissues, etc. (I did ask the front desk clerk for shampoo, which he promptly gave me, but why isn't that stuff stocked in the room?) I am not a fancy or picky person; I usually stay in 3 star hotels and have never stayed in a 5 star place. But even for me, this place was ATROCIOUS. I don't know what else to say, but don't waste even $1 on this place! It wasn't worth the $64/night we were charged. Would've slept out in the car, but the neighborhood was iffy, at best- we were just glad our car wasn't broken into in the morning. Beds weren't uncomfy, but sheets and comforter had cigarette burn holes in them, and were stinky and stained. I don't think I should have to bring my own bedding to a motel! Air conditioner unit blew stinky air, so we kept it off all night. Walls and ceilings of entire room were stained/moldy. Water temp in shower kept changing from hot to cold. You hear road noise and trains all night long. I couldn't get out of here...

A group of thirty of us were passing them town and reserved this hotel. As we arrived people began checking into their rooms and were immediately shocked at how disgusting it was. One found blood stains on one mattress and some other type of stains on the other mattress. Our room had what appeared to be biological stains on the sheets and another couple saw what they believed to be a paid visitor enter another room. While we were standing in the parking lot trying to figure out what to do and where we could go, a woman began screaming for someone to call 911, for a domestic dispute. I would rather have slept outside than in this hotel. On the plus side, we were issued refunds without hesitation. This is ran down motel. Every thing in the room was very old even down to the art work on the walls. All the sitting furniture in the room was nasty/old looking also, I didn't sit on it because of that. They had a ironing board in the room but no iron. I had to all the front desk to see if then had them, and they did. But I just don't understand why I had to walk down to get it. The only reason why I went to this motel is because all the other ones in Rockingham was booked for the weekend due to a event that was going on. I didn't sleep in the sheets on the bed bc I didn't trust them, I brought my own bedding from home. The bathroom/showr was fairly clean, I will say that much. I would stay here again..
