La Cabana Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Rockingham

Visited the restaurant with my family. The salsa for the chips was old and we told the waiter if he Gad a different one since it had an old smell and taste. The waiter was rude and said “all the salsa is the same!” We got a replacement salsa and was better. The food was not the best and the staff was very rude when we asked for drink refills and said they would charge for refills when the menu didn’t say refills were extra. Did not have the best experience, I would not recommend you coming to this place. When we proceed to pay I expressed my concerns to the cashier and he responded “we have been here for 15 years and are still in business so your experience is I’ll not impact us!” I understand my group was 6 total adult but from the moment we stepped in we were discriminated against and was not treated well. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible staff!!!!!!!!! Don't eat ANYTHING THAT COMES OUT ON A WHITE PLATE!!!!!!!!!! Everything that came out on a white plate tasted like soap or something else. My refried beans tasted like red delicious apples and my father's beef tasted like soap!!!!!! The waiter never came back after the food came out. No drink refills AT ALL!!!!!! My sister and her son didn't even eat their food because it was so bad. I'm so embarrassed because I had this place marked down in my favorites. So my family from DC and Maryland came down for my birthday to celebrate. They drove 6 hours to come here and y'all did this!!!!! Now they are scared to eat anything in Rockingham PERIOD!!!!!!!!!! I love La’Cabana! The food is delicious. The employees are awesome. If you can’t eat hot peppers or don’t want a certain type food they will fix it the way you ask them too if they can. Not a time that I went that they couldn’t fix certain things the way I wanted. I couldn’t eat spicy food nor did I like guacamole. They were more than happy to not add those in my meal. The cheese dip came with jalapeños but since I couldn’t eat jalapeños they fixed me a special little bowl of the cheese sauce. I’d recommend this place to anybody. I haven’t been in years because I moved to Wilmington 4 years ago but on one of my visits to see family I’m going to make it a point of stopping by and eat lunch or dinner. I miss the place!...
