I go here to take my kids to pick out books we usually pick out 10 apiece so we walk out with about 20 books. Every time I'm here I noticed the men that work here here are miserable and very mean. I was looking through the early childhood section for my boys and the guy just rolled up the car block my whole view of the books and started putting books back I felt that was very rude of him. When I went to check out I had a late fee so I proceeded to pay the late fee he did not accept my $20 bill and said do I have changed because they're low on change AKA they were closing and didn't want to be bothered. So I counted out the change gave it to him and he was very short unfriendly looked like he ate something bad to be honest. He was very monotone and and when he printed out my receipt he threw it on the counter and we were done I've had my hand out to receive it in my hand but he decided to throw it on the counter instead. Not sure what they go through all day but I deserve respect just as well as I was giving them it. I only come here for the children's section but I think I'm probably now going to go to a little further out Library like the Albany Park Branch they seem...
Read moreThe first few times, the library it has been manageable and quiet. I am a person that withholds a certified working animal. One day I decide to bring my dog with me and have quality time. They asked for his information, I verified it at the front desk, no problems until one of the staff decides to question and make me feel very uncomfortable with my animal when walking in. She was impatient, but not only aggressive with her words, she physically yanked on the door! Again it may take a minute or two for me to gather my things when the session was over because I have my service animal with me, but when you find it lawful to rush and demand irrational statements such as "you have to get out!" This is no longer a public library it is now 'personal' library. I was very disgusted with her actions and it does not look good not only for the staff but the...
Read moreMy first time visiting and its a lovely space. Staff seemed polite and professional if not overly engaged (again, 1st time so that might not be a fair assessment, as I'm a library regular and don't need a lot of assistance). One drawback is probably a design feature - in order to keep the space "airy" and allow the staff to see the whole space from the front desk, which is unusually tall, the shelves are only 3-4 feet tall, so you have to bend down to see any of the books (as someone that is 6'1" with vertigo this could become a challenge for browsing the collection). It also potentially limits the number of books in the collection. Again, 1st visit so I'll have to do some more exploring...
