I wanted to share my recent bad experience at the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Bolingbrook. I had to go to a conference in Bolingbrook on October 8 &9, so on 9/26 I booked a 2 night hotel stay at the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Romeoville. I reviewed the pictures online and read the description and thought this was going to be a nice stay. I did not know this normal 2 night stay would turn into a nightmare. The first thing I noticed when we checked in the hotel is the worn out carpet and musty smell. At the front desk I asked the clerk about the swimming pool that was listed on companyās website, but was advised it was āclosedā. Then, I asked about their breakfast that was also advertised on the hotelās website, and found out it was also a lie, and they donāt offer it. I got the key and went to my non-smoking room, which also smelled slightly musty. I wanted to wash my face after the trip. To my disappointment, there were no soaps, shampoos or lotions available and the large countertop had been cracked. I took a picture of it to show it to the desk clerk when I went to get some small shampoo bottles. According to him, he was not aware of the broken countertop, but if it bothered me, was willing to get me another room. I was exhausted and fighting a migraine, so I declined because I just wanted to go to bed. I returned to the room and tried to lock up and noticed that the door was hung unevenly, so it was very difficult to lock the upper bolt. I had to lift up the door and line it up to make it lock properly. I didnāt feel good, so I fell asleep very quickly, but then was awoken around 11 pm by loud noise, music and yelling. The same repeated about midnight and then again around 3 am. A drunk guest fell outside my room and was cursing and yelling when he couldnāt get up. All this made me as a woman, feel very uncomfortable and scared. Then as I got up to go to the bathroom and take some more medicine for my headache, I noticed a very strong smell of smoke in our bathroom. The guests next door must have been smoking, and the smoke seeped into our bathroom. That was the last straw. I could not bear staying there for another night and go thru the same experience. I went downstairs to check out and explained to the clerk the reasons why I needed to leave early and asked for the refund for the 2 night. He was nice, but said he couldnāt help me because I booked my reservation thru Expedia, so any refunds must come through them. Later that day, I reached out to Expedia, who told me the refunds must be approved by hotel manager āBobā. And they were going to talk to him and ask for the refund. Of course, now Bob is refusing to refund the 2nd night because he didnāt deem my reasons to check out early to be valid. He, or his staff never bothered to check on me, but the Expedia sent me a survey wanted to know how satisfied I was with my stay. Well, Iāll be glad to share my experience with them and other...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLocation is good. The area the hotel is located in is nice. Other than that I wouldn't recommend. The hotel is run down. We stayed in the studio suite which has the jacuzzi in the room. When we arrived and were checking in we noticed a strange beeping noise in the lobby. We asked the person checking us in about it thinking he had to be so annoyed listening to that all day. He said it usually only lasts a minute then stops. Someone else then came out and punched in a code somewhere and it stopped. I only mention that because we heard it off and on all night because our room was on the first floor close to the lobby. At 6:20am we finally got up and checked out. The room itself smelled musty. Dead bugs were all over the floor (not bed bugs at least). The jacuzzi had visible dirt in it. The jets looked awful with crusted gunk. No way we were getting in that! The bathroom itself was awful. The shower was stuck in the shower position so adjusting the temperature was fun with water spraying down. It was also a struggle adjusting the temperature because the faucet just spun. It didn't have a stop when you hit the max hot setting or cold setting. The shower also had hairs all over the walls. I was able to use the coffee cup they left in the room to rinse those down the drain since they don't have a coffee pot to go with the coffee cup...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe first thing I asked when I entered the lobby was "Do you allow pets?" I was even asked to repeat my question, and the concierge still said yes. When I walked in with my dog they said we don't allow dogs. I never would have gotten the room if dogs weren't allowed. That was my first priority when booking the room. The concierge seemed dazed and only half listened to what I said. With the really strong cologne you can smell walking in, I wouldn't be surprised if he was high the entire time and wasn't completely coherent. The beds are also really worn and you fall to the center, and the place is dirty. I found unused condoms under the couch. The floors are super hard like they don't have padding under the carpet. And the stairway door going to the outside doesn't shut and lock, so anyone from the street can get into the building. The lock on the door to my room was also partially broken off, with little effort or a good kick the door would easily be knocked open. Horrible horrible stay. Upon search for reviews for this hotel, I found a newspaper article that talks about a pregnant women who got raped here, and her boyfriend got the cap beat out of him. I wish I had looked for a better hotel but everything around was booked. I wish I never stayed here...
