I ordered Cracker Barrel for our Easter dinner due to the fact that I thought I was getting a good deal on Catering by ordering their Family Easter Ham Dinner that feeds 8-10 People.
First Order pick up at noonish on 3/30/24. Upon driving into the parking lot the sign said Curbside and Catering with an arrow up front but after checking into my curbside spot like the app told me to and sitting for 20+ minutes a staff member came out and instructed me that the orders were fulfilled through the back.
After seeing a huge box places in my trunk everything seemed to be back on track.
Upon arriving home, I unboxed everything to prepare putting it away for the next day. I opened the containers. Each one is supposed to feed 4-6 people and a double tray of food is to feed 8-10. THESE WERE NOT EVEN A QUARTER FULL. There was enough to feel 4-6/8-10 CHILDREN, but certainly not adults.
The ham. Big enough. The pies. OVERSIZED. No plates that were requested. No silverware that was requested as well.
I had enough food to feed half the party and had no plates or silverware for them to use....
You guys forced me to spend another 150$ on TOP of the original 210$ I spent to help correct the error in your portions and not be in such a terrible spot for Easter.
I pick up the 2ND order around 6ish pm after RUSHING to walmart to get Paper plates and silverware...
I asked to speak to the Manager who couldn't at first find my secondary order. Kept calling me the wrong name after i repeated myself a couple times. He seemed completely lacking in empathy for the situation and had 0 drive to make the situation right.
I will never, and I repeat NEVER go through Cracker Barrel for a Catering order ever again as they have lost my trust. I feel that the company is falsely advertising their portion sizes to bamboozle customers into having to order a secondary order. The signage and app at the location (Romeoville) also are false by giving inaccurate information and instructions for pick up.
I have never felt so belittled and stressed out for a holiday. I just had a baby 6 months ago and I'd rather go through a surprise C-section again than place an order and jump through these hoops with Cracker Barrel again.
I tried contacting corporate but there is no HUMAN working there. You get prompts and then eventually told that their system is not working and to try online.
Cracker Barrel, you should be ASHAMED to call yourself a "Family Restaurant" when you almost cost a family a whole Easter Meal.....
Also, might I add that this inconvenience messed with my Husbands Birthday plans because we had plans to go out for dinner but I had to spend extra money on more food for Easter as well as gas, and the most expensive...my...
Read moreI wanted to first say that Miss Helen, from today, and the server, Marcus J from 8/5/25, both gave great service.
Today, Miss Helen had a great big smile, and was warm and welcoming. She smiled, greeted me on the way in, and provided excellent service throughout the entire time I was there, waiting for my to-go order.
The other day, Marcus J, the “to go server,” provided excellent service as well. He was patient, and executed amazing listening and personable skills. That day, my food was perfect. Thank you two for providing a 5 star experience / service.
Their “rating,” is a 5 star.
But anyway, anytime I visit any Cracker Barrel, I only order the “Mommas pancakes” meal, which comes with 3 pancakes, eggs, and I substitute the meat with 2 Impossible Sausages.
Long story short, today, my pancakes had traces of bacon / pork, on them. It’s rare that I have this issue, and have only had it one other time, at Culver’s.
When a grill is used, sometimes cooks don’t thoroughly wipe down / clean the grill before cooking the next item…
For people who have food allergies, food sensitivities, religious practices that exclude pork products, traces of pork is an issue. It’s been 13+ years since I’ve eaten pork, and consuming it makes me physically sick, for days. I don’t eat it directly or indirectly.
I’m sure it was probably honest mistake, but please be more mindful of the grill in the future, to properly clean it to avoid any mishaps... Luckily, I spotted the bacon on the pancakes and stopped eating them immediately. I threw the rest of the pancakes away.
The meal isn’t cheap, nearly $16, so please make sure the grill is cleaned, and pork free. Thank you.
I tried taking pictures at multiple angles to...
Read moreWe have driven out to this location on many occasions in the past several years. We have eaten our last meal here. My husband ordered a dinner meal, which was good as far as he was concerned. The waitress dropped our food at the table before we had utensils to eat with, so by the time we got our silverware, our meals were cooling off. Then one set didn't even have a fork in the envelope. Had to wait for that. I ordered a breakfast option which was disgusting. Biscuits were okay, but barely enough sausage gravy to go over three biscuits. The two sausage patties were burnt and cold. Waitress never checked on us again, except to ask my husband if he wanted a refill on his drink, and although my glass was placed at the edge of the table, I was never asked if I wanted a refill. Just rude all around. And she, Aliyah, had many stars on her apron which she has had much training and leveled up. The level of service we received was horrible. She dropped our ticket and continued walking. Maybe the place was busy, but I have waitressed, and would never have served me the burned/cold sausage. Maybe reduce the size of the menu as other places are doing. I know it's hard to keep staff, as I work in healthcare and it is nearly impossible, but this was out and out rude service. I did not want to leave any tip, but my husband did leave a few bucks. ...
