My wife and I recently stayed for 2 nights this past weekend and were greatly disappointed with not only the cleanliness, but the attitude and professionalism of the staff. When we first checked into the hotel, the smell of the hallways and stairwells were just as bad as the room itself. Once inside the room, we immediately noticed a stain on the white bedding that looked to be some type of bodily fluid. I then walked down to the front desk, explained the stain and smell, and obtained a clean sheet and can of air freshener. When I returned to the room, I noticed dark curly hairs all over the fitted sheet. After I took pictures to document the stain and hairs, I went back to the front desk and stated I wanted all new bedding. The worker stated he didnt have anymore bedding and gave my wife and I a new room instead. Once in the new room, the smell was unbearable, worse than the hallways and previous rooms. I again sprayed the air freshener provided by the front desk with little to no change in the smell. My wife and I then began to notice dark hairs all throughout the room, from the bathroom towels, to the cieling, even on the small cardboard sign with wifi information. We then took more pictures of of these issues and again I returned to the front desk. When I explained these issues to the front desk, the response I got was, "...so what do you want, new towels?" When we returned from the wedding that we were attending that night, our key card would not work. So again I went to the front desk so as to obtain a new one. I stood there for over 15 minutes, calling the front desk with the concierge phone in the vestibule, with no answer or assistance. After multiple people walked by, all had made comments that I would be waiting a long time if I wanted any help. Finally after 20 minutes, a worker showed up and stated that she's the only person working and that she had laundry to tend to and she couldn't be in two places at once. When checking out the next day, there again was no one at the front desk, but I could hear two employees in the break room talking very loudly and using a numerous amount of obscenities. I then yelled out so as to get their attention so that I could check out. The worker was very rude and spoke to me in a manner that I was interrupting her personal conversation. She checked me out, told me my reciept would be provided through expedia, which isn't even the company we booked through, and to toss my key card in the box. Before I could say anything more and explain all these issues I've listed above, she walked away and went back to her conversation with the other employee. I was highly disappointed with my 2 night stay, and quite frankly, I view this facility as disgusting with horrible customer service. I have never stayed at a hotel with so many...
Read moreExtended Stay America saved us when a storm left our home without power for 5 days. Booking through the website was incredibly easy, and the staff was so nice and accommodating.
Our room was exactly as shown in photos. There are a lot of complaints on here about cleaning or condition. Our room was well-cleaned. Was there some wear-and-tear that you'd expect in a hotel chain that is affordable and encourages longer stays? Sure, but I don't expect them to replace every piece of furniture or flooring between guests.
We chose this chain so that we could stock up the fridge (saving some of the items in our powerless fridge at home) and cook meals to avoid the expense and risk of eating at restaurants during the pandemic. Mission accomplished; we were able to easily provide most meals for the family or pick up food at nearby restaurants to eat there.
Because there is cooking going on, there absolutely were some odd smells in the hall, but they never made their way into our room, which is remarkable. And pets are allowed, but despite multiple dogs on our floor, the walls were so well insulated that noise from other rooms never was an issue at any point.
Someone else posted about "sketchy individuals" congregating outside the hotel. It appears they stayed about the same time we did, and they might be using "sketchy" as a codeword for Hispanic laborers who were relaxing with coworkers at the end of their workday. While we were there, they were never distracting, loud, or disruptive, nor did they present an obstacle in the parking lot. If your goal in seeking a hotel is to ensure you don't interact with anyone whose income is less than $200K, you're going to need a more expensive hotel.
The only downside for us? We needed good internet for work (we couldn't go into our offices due to covid restrictions), so we paid for the upgraded daily internet. It was affordable but couldn't quite handle video meetings well. I got disconnected fairly regularly. Still, that seems to be an issue with a lot of home internet providers, so it's not the end of the world.
We were never sure when our power was going to be restored, and the staff was super nice about extending our stay and ensuring we could safely cancel it when we needed to. I don't have enough nice things to say about how...
Read moreIt looks nothing like the photos online. When we got there and were checking in I noticed several areas of the lobby that were covered in tarps. She didn’t disclose any reason for that when we came in. Nor were there any signs on the doors explaining why. I asked her if they were doing some remodeling and she told me they were dealing with a water leak. We were then given our room key to go to the third floor. Upon exiting the elevator, all of the flooring has been completely tore up. We were walking on old cement. Our room was to the left of the elevator, but to the right of the elevator, those rooms had drywall taken away from the walls because of the damage. Our room was just as bad. It had rust on the the outside of the refrigerator and dirt inside the refrigerator. There was also mold growing in the bathtub and you could see urine along the walls behind the toilet that wasn’t cleaned. I took photos of all of this for proof because without them you won’t know the truth. It was so disgusting that we left and booked a room at a different hotel even though this was not refundable. While I understand that sometimes things happen and maybe they couldn’t prevent the water leak but the fact that they did not disclose that information to any guests before our arrival or during our check-in is completely unacceptable. It really makes you question what else they’re hiding at this hotel. They claim to want to provide excellent service, but that is just a scam. This hotel is disgusting and unsafe. They even have to lock the doors at 11pm because they have had issues with people coming into the lobby and causing problems. Do not recommend if you are a solo traveler, group travel or anyone traveling with kids. You will not...
