Do not check-in to the Knights Inn Rossford unless absolutely necessary. This motel is a waste of time and money. They do not deserve the customers they get; do not let their low prices convince you otherwise. The overall service and condition of the motel is dreadful, and they have lost my service indefinitely. This motel either needs new management or to be shut down. I am surprised it is still standing after my experiences here, and from the reviews I have read, many people feel the same.
The rooms are in poor condition. The AC broke in the first room I stayed in. It would not keep the room cool in the summer heat, not even when set at sixty degrees. Eventually, the AC unit began to drip and completely soaked the floor. Furthermore, housekeeping did little cleaning before we checked-in; old takeout containers and beer bottles occupied the fridge, and despite being a non-smoking room it reeked of cigarette smoke. Thankfully, there is one friendly member of staff, and he allowed us to change rooms. However, the room we switched to proved no better. Fruit flies covered the sink, the door barely moved when opened and closed, the shower had weak water pressure and barely got warm (taking a shower was very uncomfortable), the fridge barely kept our food cold, and the Wi-Fi connection weakened now that we were at the far end of the lot. The room was also a conjoining one, and twice I was awoken to people having to come into our room to get to the room beside us because the door was jammed; no apologizes for the intrusion or inconveniences. Our neighbors were incredibly noisy and kept me up late into the night (one o’ clock to three o’ clock in the am) when I worked the next morning. I requested another room, and the friendly member of staff I previously mentioned moved us. The room stank of bug spray, sticky residue covered the dresser, and it looked as if it is falling apart, which appears to be a common theme there. Though it was, by far, the best room of the three until I received a rude phone call at six o’ clock in the morning.
The room phone awoke me, and I answered it in a daze, not expecting an angry phone call from the front desk. The guy I spoke to is the assistant manager, his name is Dennis; both are bad-mannered and shady, caring little for their customers. Apparently, I enraged him by moving to another room. He yelled at me, saying he would kick us out if we moved again, and that it (my moving) was “bullshit” when I tried to explain myself. He acted as if I moved just to move and implied the issues I experienced were a result of us and not the motel. I could barely speak and nearly cried from being treated so horribly; I could not believe what happened. We went to the front desk to speak to him, and he still acted as if we were in the wrong, complaining about having another room to clean on top of everything else; housekeeping only cleans each room once a week, so I suppose they are too lazy to do their job otherwise? Afterward, I suffered extreme anxiety. I cannot believe how awful another person can be, and my only hope is that I can bring the unsafe and unprofessional practices of this motel to the attention of others.
In addition, the motel attracts a lot of unsavory characters. The police patrol the premises daily and arrests have been made. I have witnessed fighting in the parking lot numerous times, being disturbed by violent and abusive language at early hours of the morning. This is not a place for those looking for a safe and affordable place to stay. It is a place for drug dealers and nightwalkers. I am thoroughly disappointed with and distressed by my stay at the Knights Inn Rossford. I strongly advise people to find a better motel in the area; this motel should not be paid for their terrible services. Management does not care how much money people spend on their laughable place of a motel; they feel they should be treated as kings and will harass you without care.
All in all, I give this motel 0...

Read moreI am tolerant of "rough edges" and not quick to judge harshly, but Knights Inn in Rossford merits a grim review. Is it inexpensive? Sure. Is it conveniently located near the interstate? Yes. But there the benefits of this singularly foul place end. The air conditioner was necessary, as the room quickly became unbearably hot and stuff without it. When on, though, it roared and clattered like a rattling locomotive. I slept (very briefly and poorly, due to the extremely loud AC) in my clothes on top of the sheets, so concerned was I about the obvious lack of cleanliness and the possibility of insect bite. The badly worn carpet, although not clearly visible in the dim light, was spotted with many burn marks. The bathroom reminded me of bathrooms that I had seen in slum tenements in New York City: old, shoddy, stained and moldy. The entire milieu would fit well in a David Lynch film.||I am an experienced world traveller and am forgiving of uncomfortable, somewhat "off" lodges. Yet even the harshest place I had ever stayed in – in Debark, Ethiopia – was better than this disturbing little place in Rossford. Needless to say, I not only do not recommend it, but also strongly advise any and all prospective guests to stay far away from Knights Inn...
