What a lovely place! My friend and I found ourselves saying, "How lovely!" over and over again over the weekend and thinking we should really use another word to describe Elisa's Sunday Haus but "lovely" it is. Everything is so thoughtfully done. The decorations in the room, charming but still restrained and so comfortable. There are several little seating areas where one can enjoy different aspects of the property. A little table with chairs tucked back at the trees, a swing on the porch, a small bench in the garden. Such thoughtfulness can only come from graciousness. Elisa and Wayne are the consummate hosts. Charming, intelligent, easy going. And so welcoming! Elisa was so kind and interesting, we asked her to join us for wine and cheese on the evening we arrived! Our room was so comfortable. The beds are beautifully made and comfortable. The temperature was perfect - easy to adjust. The bathroom clean and spacious. We had to drag ourselves away. My friend and I visited all the shops in Round Top and then ate dinner before we came back to the property because we wanted to simply sit and enjoy the peacefulness. And enjoy we did! Even though it is close to the Round Top center, it is far away enough so that the only noise you will hear are birds and crickets. The breakfasts she served were delicious with natural, healthful food. I especially agree with the title of the review by Joy S, "She thought of everything". How true. We truly savored every moment at Elisa's Sunday Haus and are already planning our...
Read moreWe visited Round Top for a shopping weekend before the official large fall antiques show. Elisa's Sunday Haus exceeded our expectations and was truly a perfect place to stay. The home is new, but filled with beautiful reclaimed wood and tasteful antiques take give it plenty of character. The large shade trees, stock pond, gardens and large porches made us want to get outdoors and see the abundant birds, fish, turtles, frogs and even a couple of baby bunnies. It's located just a minute or two from the town square by car, but feels like it's in the far from civilization. The bedding was very nice and I loved the feather pillows. The owner, Elisa made lovely breakfasts every day and is very kind and friendly, but not at all intrusive. This was a couple trip for us, but our 11 year old daughter, who loves the outdoors, would have enjoyed it just as much. The pictures on their website didn't do justice to...
Read moreA local innkeeper-friend told me if I could find a vacancy with Elisa, GRAB IT! I did, and I am so glad I did. I wanted to treat a special friend to a birthday getaway, and also enjoy a day of the Round Top Antiques Fair. Our accommodations were superb, and the breakfast was yumptious! The location is absolutely perfect because it is in Round Top, and not far from the vendors. In the evening, after a piece of pie from in town, I enjoyed sitting in the porch swing and lulling myself into a restful bliss. As for the Fair. Elisa gave us helpful hints about getting around, places to eat, and other special places we might enjoy. We loved it, and I reluctantly drove out of the driveway to leave our...
