I was overwhelmed by the hospitality on our recent visit to Hotel Lulu and had no idea a place like this existed in Texas. My husband and I left the kids at home and escaped the city and our exhausting normal schedules to unplug and reset. We were both feeling the effects of burnout at work and just general exhaustion, our experience was completely what the doctor ordered. Annette greeted us and showed us around the property with a garden spritz she had the bartender prepare for us in the chicest hotel bar I have ever visited in Texas. The entire staff was so friendly and really went out of their way to take care of us. They were even nice enough to sell me a dozen of the farm fresh eggs they use from a local farmer down the road so we could enjoy them at home all week. We barely left the property except to grab a piece of pie at Royer’s and we did a round of shopping at all the local spots within walking distance. The whole package was just so incredible—it was clean, sophisticated, thoughtful, quiet and just generally the most relaxed I have been in a very long time. ||I highly recommend Townsend Provisions and Curate by Stash for locally sourced souvenirs to take home and also feel like I enjoyed the town more without my kids.
