Making reservations with Wyndham is always a disappointment. It takes forever and this took several phone calls to finally complete. As long time paid and several times upgraded members, we expect better. Nonetheless, we made it to Limetree for our honeymoon. Check in always takes some time as they want you to register to take a tour. But we know this going in... Service at the hotel was always very friendly. The day we checked in, however, the first room they gave us keys for had someone else IN the room. Thank goodness we didn't interrupt something and the people inside were very nice, but AWKWARD!! The hotel got us another room after about 20 minutes and made no concessions to make up for this. No extra effort was made by the hotel knowing it was our honeymoon, however the restaurant did give us free drinks the first night. We stayed for 7 nights and planned to switch to the presidential suite once it opened up (this is how the reservation had to be made because there was not a room available to Wyndham members for the entire 7 nights). Upon seeing mold on the AC unit in our first room, the staff told us we could move to the upgraded room that night. (One night early.) None of the staff offered to help us with this move. The view was undeniably better in the second room, and it was more recently renovated. I personally preferred the loft room because the bedroom was in a separate area. But the view and parking was better at the presidential suite and it had a full size washer and dryer in the unit, as well as a dishwasher. My husband preferred the second room hands down. The lights were weird and would randomly shut off and come back on, but we were only there for two more night and didn't bother about it. The pool was clean and we enjoyed the swim up bar. There is bird poo all around the pool, but the pool itself was very clean and the temperature was perfect. We ate at the restaurant numerous times during our stay, mainly because it was convenient and I hated driving on St Thomas roads. The food was good, pricey, and the service was 7/10. The more upscale restaurant that they used to have is apparently closed permanently, which was disappointing. We didn't care much for the beach and went to many others during our stay. It's extremely rocky. We did visit Margaritaville, another Wyndham property, and it was much bigger, very nice, and seemed to have a lot going on. If I was going with kids, I'd stay there. But for a more quiet, laid back stay, we preferred Limetree more. All in all, if someone asked me if I recommend this hotel, I'd say shop around. You may or may not be able to do better, but this isn't a bad one by any means. Just check for mold before unpacking. If I were to go to St Thomas again I would take a cruise though. The roads were a nightmare and there are a lot of areas that were in squalor.

The view of the ocean and beach from our room was very relaxing. Kitchenette was small, just stovetop and microwave, no dishwasher or oven, but pots, pans and utensils were clean. The deck had orange rusty stains from water leakage, there was a bloodstain on the sheets, the armrests had stains, the pullout sofa was dirty, the sofa mattress had sand and crumbs, there were worms behind the sofa, and the breakfast table light was dusty and had cobwebs. We brought this to the front desk’s attention and spoke with Raquel, however she did not seem amused or apologetic. She said because we are owners she will return “some points” and when I asked how much she said she will “get back to me.” It was not until we attended the presentation when we shared our negative experience to our representative that she told her manager and Raquel called shortly after to return 100,000 points back. I highly doubt if we did not attend the presentation that she would have returned these points. It had to take talking to upper management for a resolution which should’ve been easily taken care of the first time I brought it to their attention. Housekeeping came to clean and still did not clean or dust the light, took the blanket we requested for the sofa and when I texted the front desk at 7:30pm they did not respond until the next morning at 7:30am. I called at 9:30pm and no answer. The laundry facility on the premises was not clean and had cobwebs everywhere, and did not have air conditioning. One of the machines kept leaking and when I called maintenance they said “it always does that, but the Presidential suite across the way has a nice one.” The pool deck was dirty and had chicken poop everywhere. Not a great sight when you’re trying to enjoy food from the bar. Drinks from the pool bar were mediocre and the bartender was not personable. Did not have fries on the menu, had to order from the nearby restaurant called Longboard, but was told cannot bring it to the pool because they are not affiliated. There were no activities for the kids, not as kid friendly. This was our first experience as owners and it did not meet or exceed any of our expectations. Most likely will not be back.

Upon arriving to the Limetree location we were very excited! We are owners with Wyndham and this was our first time vacationing in St Thomas. We got there early so we hung out at the bar and by the beach until our room was ready. The beach here is BEAUTIFUL!! When our room was ready we received a call and got everything unpacked. The room is smaller than we are use to but it was still cute. The bathroom was a bit dirty with hair from previous owners staying. There was also mold in the bathroom which we called the front desk and they sent someone to take care of it. It makes me question how thoroughly cleaned the room was if that wasnt spotted while cleaning. The closet sliding door was broken so one part of the closet we couldn't use but it wasn't a big deal. The bed was super comfy and we were very thankful for that. We had a nice view of the pool and beach as well. The restaurant was just okay service was definitely lacking. The market there by the pool definitely had way better food and I will be reviewing both places on their own platforms. If you want to leave the resort and didnt rent a car you need to get a taxi since walking is not really an option here. So the last and most annoying reason for the 3 stars is the last couple days we were there the room above us was either being renovated or torn apart and the noise would start at 8am until night time and it made it impossible to sleep in or relax in the room. I think as owners or even anyone spending good money at a resort they should not have to deal with this at all. So that definitely left a bad taste in our mouth along with the couple other issues stated above. The beach here is beyond beautiful though and you definitely get spoiled with that alone. The chickens, iguanas and ducks were fun to have around also!

To whom it may concern at Wyndam;||||||I am vacation owner Jenelle M Jackson and up until my last Wyndam vacation at Limetree resort in St Thomas I was a happy customer. ||||||Let me start my complaint from the largest issue. Upon returning from this unfortunate stay on August 7th I had issues with my credit card in the cab home. When I called my credit card company they said a 908$ charge was mysteriously made by the limetree had put me over a daily spending limit. I asked what it was for, they couldn't tell but said it was being returned to me in 7-10 days. ||||||I immediately called the resort to try to get to the bottom of it. The manager Pamela, was made aware I wanted to speak to her. She never called back or followed up for two days. This isn't the first time I've called to speak to her. I literally called the front desk with requests to speak to her about other grievances about the resort while I was on the property.  I was simply told every time she's in a conference/call, she said she'll get back to you. She never did after 5 attempts, the 5th being why was I erroneously charged a mysterious 908$ aside from the already 329$ resort fee at check out. No response. Unsatisfactory!||||||I was so unhappy at this resort I wished and asked to be switched to sister resort margaritaville after just 3 days at limetree. That request also went unanswered. ||||||Here are my complaints, some small and fixable, some just not.||||||The resort was supposed to be at only 28/38 percent capacity and it was clearly over populated and grossly under staffed. Management issue.||||||The limetree is a lovely resort with beautiful rooms and very friendly personnel, however it is flawed in design where acoustically it's a living nightmare if there is someone who is booked in a room above u. Normal walking sounds like stomping,  any movement of furniture/luggage is extremely loud and grating on the nerves. I literally wanted to leave the whole resort after 3 days. I just couldn't take it anymore.||||||There is absolutely no cell phone service on the resort. It is in a dead spot. Not the resort's fault but can be extremely inconvenient. Not a good thing if your family cannot contact you. ||||||It would take 15mins to get a buggy ride to get to the front desk to wait another 15 mins for a cab. Oddly the cab was allowed to drop u at your room after your trip but not pick u up at your room. This is easily fixable. I was absolutely livid after waiting 15 mins in the sun for a buggy that never showed up. I come inside and call the front desk, they said he came but saw no one and left. I said that can't be possible. Not only that, my cab left. Front desk never bothered to call me. I waited another 15 mins outside for the same buggy who said he came to the wrong room the first time. ||||||After the 3rd day my stove burned out. The maintenance was kind enough to buy me a hot plate so I wouldn't have to waste the whole day lugging all my things plus groceries across resort to another room. He said they have been burning out all over the resort so he bought several hot plates. In this case my complaint was resolved quickly.  I'm being fair ||||||The beach is a mess, rocky and sea debris filled. No loungers or anything to make it welcoming. Loungers are on back order I was told. However the pool has so many that at least 10 to 15 stayed stacked in a corner unused. ????||||||This is the first Wyndam resort I've had to use money in the laundry room. Really?  What the heck? 329$ resort fee but I still gotta pay to wash? Cheap!||||||Now that I've made my complaints here's some suggestions to make that gem of a resort better.||||||1. Change management immediately. It is completely unacceptable that all my phone calls to speak with Pamela go ignored without any attempt to get back to me on any issue especially where a whopping 908$ of my money disappeared.||||||2.  Try not to stack occupants if it could be avoided due to acoustic design flaw.||||||3. Replace all the hot plates asap. Add microwave/conventional ovens to replace the just microwaves. The resort sits in a food desert and the restaurant is closed.||||||4. Clean the tiny resort beach||||And put some loungers down there or beach chairs or picnic tables.||||||5. Enlist more help from sister resort Margaritaville. Those guys got it together over there.||||||||Finally, I'd like to say I have had a better stay at charming dumps than this place. I have come to expect a standard from Wyndam. Notice my complaints had nothing to do with covid adjustments. This is my 3rd Wyndam trip during the pandemic and everything was fine on other trips. I have never in the years I've been your customer felt the need to sit and write such a lengthy complaint.  ||||||I feel so strongly and am so disappointed that I request my that all fees and points associated with this resort be refunded or credited back to my account in all fairness. It's the very least the Wyndam can do since Ms. Pamela has deemed me so unvalued of a customer that I don't deserve her attention or response.||||||P.s. a copy of this complaint will go up on TripAdvisor and various sites. I will amend it fairly once my issue is resolved. Thank you for taking the time to listen. ||||||Sincerely, Vacation Owner||||Jenelle...

READ THIS BEFORE YOU STAY HERE.

Upon check in I noticed the the $50/n charge on a paper at the desk. I asked the receptionist is this was included in our reservation or if we should pay this now. She told me it was included and my card wouldn’t be charged (which we found out later from another review on here that was a lie) 1ST RED FLAG We go in our room & there are approx 20 worms in living room floor and 10 in bedroom. We called, they sent maintence down who said this was “normal” and that they could spray but they may come back. 2ND RED FLAG. I explained I’m pregnant, you can’t spray the room. So they said they would spray the outside. Fine. Whatever, the worms were gross but harmless. The is only 1 restaurant on the resort which was packed. So we bought over priced pasta from the “marketplace” to make for dinner. When we ran the water for the pasta it came out brown. 3RD RED FLAG. I was told this was common because of the pipes and to just run it for a while until it goes clear. I am pregnant surrounded by an unhealthy environment and now I can’t even drink the water, forcing me to buy your $6 bottle of water to drink and cook with. I picked up my phone to call the front desk & realized I had ZERO CELL SERVICE. I could only get on the internet through wifi. Which was very scary because we had a daughter at home that needs to be able to reach us. FOURTH RED FLAG. I went up to the front desk to speak with conceierge Pamela and night audit Ashley since there was no manager on duty. I would like to note that these ladies went above & beyond to assist, we’re extremely nice and apologetic for the lack of solutions we were given. Unfortunately they could only do so much without a manager which brings me to my fifth and final red flag. I was given the phone to speak to Akil Lewis, who introduced himself as the general manager. He was not kind, sympathetic, or even sorry for the poor condition of his resort. He told me he couldn’t move my room, they would try to fix everything they could, that the worms were just tiny caterpillars and that’s just what comes with being on an island, and even if the water is clear I wouldn’t suggest you drink it, so you will have to buy bottled water anyway, and if you need cell service to come to the lobby. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A 4 STAR RESORT. The way he was so nonchalant, dismissive and served no solutions to all of these problems was shocking. Momma mode turned on, I was pissed and I immediately demanded a new room and to be shuttled to a grocery store where I can buy fairly priced water, OR that he needs to shuttle me to a more adequate resort. Akil told me he would see what he could do in the morning with getting me to the grocery story. I knew not to trust his word, and demanded to be taken tonight because at this point it was 2 hours later at 7:30pm I’m starving and dehydrated. He said “okay, put me back on the phone with the lady (Ashley)”. I waited in the lobby for Ashley. She came over to me and I asked “so what time are we leaving for the store” ASHLEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAD TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE AKIL NEVER SAID A WORD TO HER ABOUT MY DEMANDS. He purposely and intentionally pretended to hear & honor my concerns and demands, without zero intention of following through with them. It is a direct slap in the face and beyond disrespectful as guest here. The staff couldn’t believe I was treated that way, we were all in shock, and by now I was FUMING. The staff called him back to confront him and to be honest, I’m not sure what came of that conversation. All I know is they were also upset. I will not say how for protection of this staff but I will say we got our groceries, water, and a new CLEAN room all conducted with people with zero power. Akil Lewis should be ashamed as a general manager and a man. I am 6 months pregnant on an unfamiliar island just trying to have a relaxing vacation for my birthday before baby comes. We had stayed calm through the bugs, the water, everything. We just wanted a clean room and fair access...

If you want to be on vacation where the hotel pool and amenities is also the community pool to locals then this is your place. Called the hotel to address the issue and their response was why didn’t you inform us ? Well, I wasn’t aware that was my job and also there is a security that walks laps around the resort. shouldn’t he have that responsibility not the guest? Isn’t that his job? There are many animals on the property, which wouldn’t be an issue if they actually kept them away from the pool deck. You can expect to swim with duck, rooster, chicken and/or iguana poop along with all the locals. Other guest attempted to clean some of it up with leaves only to have other guest step right into it. Extremely unhygienic. On the first night we had the fire alarm go off in the middle of the night. A glitch maybe or out of battery not sure. We called for assistance, no one came to check on the alarm until The next day 4pm. Thankfully We were able to mute it after an hour of nonstop ringing ourselves. We are Still waiting on the towels we never received. Sometimes you call for the golf cart to take you uphill to the lobby and it may or may not show up - another guest had to walk up this hill in high heels (unfortunately). The prices at the bar are more expensive than other resorts. We went to newly opened Westin property and they had cheaper prices for much better service, food/drinks and ambience.

Our room fans and AC filter looked like they werent cleaned in who knows how long, where my asthma was exasperated due to allergies.

In the room we had two TVs that were controlled by the same remote so if you click to turn one on, both turn on at the same time. If you try to turn off one tv the other turns off and so forth. Genius, I must say. Over the weekend there is nothing to eat until 10am since there’s no breakfast offered by the restaurant on site. You are subjected to either $24 RT to the grocery story or go to the “market” on site. The market on site obviously is more expensive and for “convenience” we paid $13 for 6.4oz of mosquito repellant to be exact. So Expect everything to be double the price than regularly.

We Couldn’t leave without some mentions of the awful staff we encountered. Pam the concierge offered us a transportation package through a taxi driver named Philmore. The card said 2 persons for 4 days $300. We came on a work trip and needed to make sure transportation would not be an issue so we decided to hire Philmore. Worst mistake of our trip. Dealing with Philmore was a nightmare and every time we would try to schedule him it was always an issue. Philmore was not available for the times we needed and it was always a pushback. Pam who works as the concierge should be providing the best possible experience and service to her guest. Suggesting to hire Philmore was a huge disservice and I hope other guests don’t fall for the trap. Overall, we left extremely unhappy with our experience. About the only saving grace of our trip was dealing with Hutch who was extremely nice and that we were in a beautiful place.

Rule of thumb, if you are coming here to work - take this into consideration - if you ask to be picked up at 6:30, they will arrive at 6:40 and you...
