I'd like to leave the comments about the visit IslaBlue Bar on March 6. We choose restaurants for a wedding celebration because of good location, nice menu and expectations of decent service since the place belong to Marriott Hotel group. First disappointment happened when we were offered a table for 4, but our reservation (that we made a week before coming) required sitting for 5 PEOPLE, and the waiter offered us just to add one more chair. How would 5 people with one plate each supposed to eat on a little table for 4 ,I have no idea. Then, when we ordered a bottle of champagne, no worker opened it for us. And moreover, no one even brought a basket with ice for bottle, and it was just melting all the way on the table. Without being said,no one ever came to wipe our table with a puddle from the condensate of bottle and food crumbs. Also no staff ever told us at least "Congratulations." We didn't expect any special treatment that day, but that silence looked very dismissive. As well as the staff who were leaning on the counter at all times didn't look interested in providing any service as well. The only things we were happy with are food and drinks, seaview and interior . Service was awful, and we will never choose this restaurant and any restaurants from this...
Read moreGreat beachside bar with nice island drink options. They also have the regular beer bottle options and a few local craft beers on tap (Leatherback). Service was very pleasant and helpful. If you find a spot in Morningstar Beach close to the bar, the servers will deliver your drink orders and provide beachside service. This beach and the surrounding resorts seem to still be recovering after the hurricanes a few years ago, and the reconstruction of the hotel was not yet complete. But this venue was s completely renovated. There were not a great deal of customers on the beach or at the bar, but don’t let that scare you aware! This is a great spot for drinks and light fare at a beautiful...
Read moreSandbar is downstairs and Isla Blue (which requires reservations) is upstairs. Sandbar restaurant also double as the hotel lobby but has cute seating and great views of the beach.
We had dinner here twice. The first time they only had one person working covering the bar and 12 tables, that lady was having a tough evening...
My wife has celiac so we were glad to see they had gluten free pizza, even if the +$6 was a little absurd. Unfortunately the pizza was mediocre, tasted like they made it with tomato paste for pizza sauce. Also tried the paella which was OK and the ceviche which was good. Wish the prices were more reasonable and / or quality and portions were better but...
