At first, the lady at the front desk at check in seemed knowledgeable and friendly, however once I got to my room, I noticed that it was lacking a remote control for the television. The first attempt was to try a different remote control they had at the front desk, however after figuring out that it didn't work, the response was that there is nothing they can do until the representative from the cable company came to reprogram it. I made the suggestion to switch to a different room, which the clerk was reluctant to do, concerned that I "used" the room. She even came to inspect my initial room prior to reassigning me to a different room (which did have a remote and was in better shape). If there is an issue with a guest room, it should not matter if the bathroom was used or the bed has been turned down to determine whether or not a new room would be assigned. Such room should be taken out of service, and housekeeping should "refresh" the room after the issue is resolved and before it is put back in service. While the exterior and the lobby appears to be remodeled/kept up, the guest rooms show wear and tear, and have a musty smell. They have an ample continental breakfast, including waffles. The clerk it worked with at check-out was helpful...
Read moreI called Choice Privileges to book our reservation while traveling through Kansas. It was very late and we were unfamiliar with the area. With still a couple of hours until we arrived at Salina, CP Representative Daisy made arrangements at this Rodeway Inn for us. We arrived around 11:30 pm and checked into our room quickly and efficiently. The room was immaculate! The bed was inviting and comfortable. And the shower was good and hot with a great water pressure. It was refreshing after being in the car for over 10 hours. We left everything in the car, except for some toiletries because we were so tired and our vehicle was secure. We slept great. We did not partake in their breakfast because we wanted to get back on the road. However, there was a McDonald's across the street, an IHOP behind us and other restaurants in the area. There were two or three gas stations also. My husband and I would definitely return to this particular Rodeway Inn. It seemed like this hotel would provide the perfect base to explore the area and was reasonably priced. This Rodeway Inn provided us a sweet sleep for our long journey, so...
Read moreWe booked a room here in advance for a trip where we would be passing through Salina. They are pet friendly and we thought it would be perfect. Arrived around 1 am and checked in only to get on our room with all our bags and dog to find out the door didn’t latch properly or lock with the deadbolt, meaning anyone with access to a key card (staff etc.) could enter this room at anytime. We notified the front desk attendant who stated this was the only room available and he did not seem to understand the problem of it not locking. We explained as two women traveling alone it is not safe to have a room at night without the ability to lock. We were able to get a refund but then had to try 4 other hotels at 1:30 in the morning until finding a place with a room available. Very disappointing since we preplanned our stop here to avoid an issue. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone who is concerned for their well-being. There was also a family of stray kittens in the parking lot as well as a full dumpster with furniture outside. Not a nice...
