Let me begin by saying I have NO idea how this place has this many positive reviews. I went Saturday with my husband and three sons. We walked in and the restaurant is beautiful so I was excited to try this new place. We sat down and it was very warm in there but that was no biggie as long as the food and service is good. I ordered horchata and it was delicious. One son got Coke and another got tea. The tea was disgusting and my son couldnt even drink it. When the server came to take our order we ordered three carne asada tacos for my husband and three for me. The waiter had no clue what we were talking about. I had to explain it was steak tacos. We asked if they had al pastor and once again he said what’s that. I asked what comes with the tacos and he said a side of beans and I asked for black beans since I’m not a fan of refried. He brought me ZERO beans. One of my sons didn’t eat and the other ordered the kids chicken tenders. So when our food comes out my son’s 4 tenders looked like three very thin pieces of fish. They counted an incredibly small piece as a tender. He tried them and said it was awful and he couldn’t eat it so he ate a few fries and that’s it. Once my husband and I opened our tacos we immediately noticed they were wrong. They were in FLOUR tortillas with NO CILANTRO nothing but meat. And the meat was in such small burnt pieces. They brought out a side of pico to go with them but I’ve eaten a lot of street tacos and they have never been served with pico. I asked for a lime to put on the meat since it had nothing else and the waiter asked me what’s that….. I was so ready to leave at this point but we ordered food so I was going to attempt to eat it. My husband and I couldn’t even get past 2 of these so called taco and we just left the food. The waiter never offered to refill our drinks or anything. This was by far the worst “Mexican”, I use that term jokingly, food I have ever had in my life. NO FLAVOR and made entirely wrong. The people leaving positive reviews must be frequent Taco Bell eaters and never had authentic Mexican. When we walked in and didn’t see a single Hispanic I should have known it was not the place for us. My husband and kids were the only Hispanics there other than the wait staff. The place is beautiful, needed AC and some kind of music or something because it was totally quiet and a whole new kitchen staff. I was literally baffled when we left and was so upset because I was starving when we got there. I can’t believe we gave them any of our money. We will never be back and I will definitely be making FB posts and telling everyone to avoid this place....
Read moreI don't usually do this but this evening was the second time I visited this place. It was great the first time and that's why we went to it this evening. I wasn't even through a quarter of my meal and I knew something was wrong. I ended up running outside because I didn't know where the bathroom was and I vomited. The waiter was really nice but I don't think he had any Authority. He told me to tell the person at checkout what happened. The guy at the checkout was very smug and somewhat uncaring. I just figured he would at least not charge me for my part of the meal but he charged all three of us. It wasn't so much that I could tell something was wrong with the food and that I vomited but he was very smug and I'm caring. I'm a local business owner and if something like that would have happened to someone else, people always expect me to give them discounts or at least have some passion and understanding. Simply because of the manager/owner whoever it is, I would not recommend the place. Besides, I would hate to have anyone go through the retching that I did. Not just because it's painful but I also just came off my second to open heart surgery so it is a little painful more so than most people would experience. But I'd hate to have anybody go through that. Whether it be an elderly person or a child. But the...
Read moreMy son and I found Los Tres Oros (the "three of golds" from a Spanish card deck {naipes}) while in the area visiting family. We had a taste for Mexican food, and we're glad to find one so close to our hotel. We dined early evening (before 6 PM) on a Saturday, and there was no wait. The dining room is spacious, and I can only imagine the energy in the place when the dining room is full.
Staff were friendly and efficient, and were very tolerant of my poor attempts to speak Spanish (staff spoke and understood English perfectly). We were greeted and asked for our drink order within moments of being seated, and chips and salsa were served shortly thereafter. My son ordered the America (four cheese enchiladas with grilled chicken, cheese sauce, lettuce, tomato, and guacamole), and I ordered the Barnabe's Special (a chalupa, a taco, a chile relleno, an enchilada, and a tamale served with rice and beans). Our meals were ready very quickly, but I'm sure the kitchen would take a little more time if the house were packed. The food quality was excellent, and the portions were typical for traditional Mexican restaurants—very generous. Prices were, in my opinion, very reasonable. If we lived in the area, this would definitely be a regular and preferred meal location! I look forward to eating here again on a...
