IHop is normally a very quick and easy experience for us, however this morning was the exception. We arrived about 9:30am, with parking lot about 1/3 full. Wait time to be seated was quick, with no que present. Waitress was very awesome, however she was very overloaded with tables. Wait time on food was about 30 mins. Waitress did her best and was very apologetic, she was a Rockstar! Checkout was a disaster. Took receipt to register as we were ready to leave and Waitress was busy so couldn't pay at table. Cashier said only Waitress could cash us out, so we waited more. Cashier was eventually able to cash me out (paying cash), but other party with us was going to pay with card, so we were told we had to wait on Waitress to do that, unwilling to wait longer to leave, I had extra cash and just rounded up to the next highest round amount and left the cash with the bill for them to sort out. By this time, a large que had started at the door, and the staff appeared to be getting overwhelmed. This was likely a unique scenario, and our Waitress as well as others visibly looked like they were trying. Food was on point with IHop standards and delicious! Hopefully, the existing staff gets the help they need, as they really were trying! But, unfortunately our experience due to this wasn't the greatest this time around. Will update if we make it back to try again next...
Read morePossibly the worst run IHOP in the country...just horrible in all aspects from start to finish. From the start as I walked in to the manager and two employees gabbing away about personal bs i stood at the hostess stand for several minutes as they blabbered on without so much as a glance unti I was forced to interupted their gab fest with a request to be seated, upon being seated the gabfest continued for 12 minutes as i sat with no service until i got up walked over and was forced again to interupt only to receive a distainfull look as i requested a server. 3-4 minutes later a server showed up to ask for my drink order , my reply coffee ,when the coffe arrived i was imformed that they were out of creamer so i asked for milk for my coffee. (They charged me for the milk).next i ordered steak and eggs only to be informed they had no steak. So i ordered the steak tips. After waiting over 10+ minutes i inquired about my meal only to have it delivered cold. My overeasy eggs cooked hard , the steak tips overcooked ,dry and soo sweet they were inedible , the hash browns cold and burnt.all the while the crew huddled in groups and shot the breeze totally ignoring the customers.and i was not alone in my dismay at the terrible way this IHOP was run and staffed several other customers with in earshot of me were also commenting on the terrible service..On the way out after standing for a few minutes at the unatended cashier station i called into the back for someone to please cash me out the"manager came out and made the mistake of asking how my visit went.when i told her she started in on the crew for not doing their job so i had to cut her off explaining the reason the crew was not doing their job was becaouse she the manager was...
Read moreThe iHop on West Diamond Drive in Salina, KS is where you will get the bare minimum. You will be greeted, but don’t expect a smile or warmth. The dismay is palpable as you are walking to your seat, with not a smile on any customer or server’s face. Entering the restrooms, you will see that the toilet seats are cleaned, but the rest of the toilet is as grungy as a trucker’s rest stop. There is toilet paper, but it is resting on top of the dispenser in a large roll. Your order will be taken, but again, not with a smile. We were seated and served by Jayden (not sure of the spelling). I ordered a strawberry lemonade spritzer, which was flat and overly sweet, and the strawberries were browning. My fiancé ordered the cinnastack milkshake, but we were informed that there was no ice cream for milkshakes. I ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich. My fiancé ordered the bourbon bacon jam burger. While we were waiting for our food, we heard the cook inform the server that there was no bourbon bacon jam. However, the server never relayed this to us, and delivered a basic cheeseburger to the table, along with my biscuit sandwich, which was missing the pickles (a tragedy for a pregnant woman such as myself). We did inform the manager of the struggle to receive our wishes and the lackluster communication, and she discounted our meal and apologized. She did explain she is new and working to better the facility. Let’s hope she is successful because from our experience, it seems to be quite the large...
