Iâve been staying at this hotel since July 2019. Iâve always had a wonderful stay with no problems until today. I live in Corpus Christi and travel to San Antonio quite frequently because my mom was on a transplant liver list and finally got a liver transplant on Christmas Eve. My first frustration was calling to make a reservation. I thought I was directly calling the hotel but if you press the reservations button you get a reservationists operator that donât help at all. Iâve had issues with the reservations before by them telling me NO rooms are available when Iâm standing in the lobby getting a room. Then they told me that Hyatt doesnât offer any medical rates or AAA rates which is a lie because theyâve always given me the AAA rate. I come in on Monday to check in and ask for the medical rate, Lyzette, the âfront desk managerâ tells me that when I made my reservation I had to tell them to give me a rate. I explained to her what the reservationist had told me and she flat out told me that she couldnât adjust the rate. Then I asked for a late check out which late check out for me in the past has been 4pm. Mind you Iâve come in to stay at this hotel from very early (4am) to 11:00pm and have been able to stay as late as 4pm. AAA recommends them as well as Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital giving discount rates. If they wonât honor any discounts they shouldnât recommend this hotel. I have truly enjoyed this hotel but looks like I have to take my business somewhere else. I felt as if Lyzette was demeaning me, wouldnât let me talk, made me feel as if I donât know how to make a reservation and over-talked me with attitude. Traveling back and forth is tiring and I needed a 4 pm check because of school being out I had my daughter and my sister had her kids and keeping them their at the hotel was convenient for us to get things situated with my mom and taking transplant classes. I had nobody else to help care for my 8 year old daughter and nieces. This was a frustrating experience especially that this was a transplant medical issue. I had to hurry along Drs, dietitians, pain management, rehab...etc. and anyone else who we needed classes on caring for a transplant patient to just get back to the hotel to...
Read moreI and My family went to spend our vacation at Sea world San Antonio in August 2013, and we choose "Hyatt Place San Antonio Northwest/Medical Center" as our hotel. The first day we checked in the hotel, I lost my camera which is a very good camera with a decent lens(Sigma SD14, and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC SLD ELD Aspherical Macro Lens for Sigma Digital SLR Cameras), and some other accessories.
This whole thing was handled very badly, and my family's vacation was partially ruined.
It happened as, we checked in the hotel at 5:30pm Aug-17-2013, and we walked out of the hotel room around 6:30pm for a dinner at the county line grill, which is right outside the hotel(Hyatt Place San Antonio Northwest/Medical Center). Since the resturant is so close to the hotel, We did not carry anything with us, including the camera. However after we came back from the dinner around 8:30pm~9:00pm, we found out the camera is gone. Then we started talking to different people, try to find out whether we left the camera at the checked-in station or somewhere. The hotel denied our request to review the surveillance record. It is very confused, who should we talk to, and who has the authority to check it for us. Finally after two days we lost our camera, right before we started packing everything and heading back to Houston, the general manager of the hotel, Javier Segura, came and talked to me, and we decided to call the San Antonio police and file a police report. At that time the general manager told me this whole thing will be handled by the insurance of the hotel, and the insurance will cover my lost. However after almost two month, the agent of insurance finally called me, and told me they decided this case won't be handled by the insurance,
So what I gained from this trip, is a ruined vacation, a lost camera, and a very bad experience with the staff...
Read moreJust stayed here for four nights during their buy 3, get 1 night free promo. Traveled to San Antonio from out of state with my wife and two little ones. Overall, I recommend this hotel and will stay here when I visit San Antonio again.
Pros: Best bang for the buck and pretty close to downtown without paying the downtown price. The room was very nice and is the largest you will get for the price compared to other hotels. This was important as we had a baby and toddler and a lot of luggage for them. The lobby is high-end and the breakfast is the best thing about the hotel IMO. This is a legit breakfast - cage free scrambled eggs, bacon, a great fruit variety, waffles, potatoes, bananas with honey, nuts, a variety of toast, cereal, drinks and more. This is the real deal. There are classy tables throughout the lobby to eat at. The pool is outside and looked great although we didn't use it (we didn't see anyone use it so you'd probably have it to yourself). The parking lot has a ton of spots and won't get full. The property is well lit and just high end looking. The room was clean and most importantly the bed was too with three separate types of pillows to choose from based on what you like (smart!!). Free fast wifi and a great tv with cable. The front desk receptionists/managers were dressed in high-end attire and were very courteous and professional.
Cons: The bathroom ceiling is seven feet tall, lower than the rest of the room. Our air filter for the room's AC was pretty clean but the vent holes could've been cleaned better as there was hard to reach dust. The shower liner was dirty and greasy. If they can fix the neat freak things that I notice, this place would be five stars. Overall it's the best bang for the buck...
