BEWARE: HEARING LOSS
We visited the Colonnade after having a poor experience at the Stone Oak location. In Stone Oak, the (Society Zero) room malfunctioned so many times the manager had to come into the room to apologize and show us the things which didnt work correctly. It was a new room and we were disappointed but understood they were still working out some bugs. They offered us two comp tickets for a future game.
Today we did the comped game (Horror on Hallow's Eve) in their other location and while the game was an interesting concept, the puzzles were not linear and people with poor vision will be at a disadvantage in the dark. That wasn't the problem though. The issue is an air cannon (two, actually) that were SO LOUD it was deafening. There's no warning this will happen. There's no disclaimer or verbal heads up from the game master, you're just standing in an enclosed room and then your ears are painfully ringing due to several seconds of ear-splitting noise. It is absolutely loud enough to cause hearing loss. Anyone with hearing aids could be seriously injured. It was completely unacceptable and the game master shrugged it off and said they can't control how loud it is and his ears have rung from hearing it, too.
Totally inexcusable to injure your guests all for a prolonged jump scare/overwhelming audio. I cannot stress enough how obscenely loud this was... I've been near fighter jets taking off and it wasn't that loud - this is not an exaggeration. It's insane that a company can subject someone to that noise level. I will...
Read moreMy friend and I did Horror on all Hallow’s Eve, and it was so much fun! I’ve done a few different escape rooms over the last few years and this one was probably my favorite! The room was beautifully designed and decorated, there were familiar/commonly seen puzzles, and there were newer more fresh puzzles that proved challenging. The little clues hidden in the room were actually helpful and not so vague and cryptic to the point where it could mean anything and you are forced to waste a hint. Amanda and another girl, I am so sorry I can’t recall her name :(, were absolutely hilarious and super helpful during the game! They were even kind enough to let me know when a very loud sound effect would be triggered because my hearing is pretty sensitive! Without their useful hints, there would be no way my friend and I would have finished it with 7:26 to spare. They were so awesome and I can’t wait to go back to do another room! EDIT: Came back a week later with the same friend to escape the illusionist! AND WE DID….With some help from the awesome team! Ange…lica, Calvin, aaaand, Annie? Amy? Amanda? Arnold? Jolene? …ANGELINA! ;) (I only remember Calvin immediately cause Calvin and Hobbes. I remember with name associations.) They are so much fun, it makes the atmosphere less tense, and as if you have a friendly Casper the ghost on your side! I cannot wait to come back for more fun and to lock L...
Read moreAt first, I did not enjoy my experience with them. I won't go into detail, but it was unpleasant enough that I felt compelled to leave a review. (I very rarely leave reviews) I expressed my complaints and expected nothing to come of it.
The immediate response and clear intent to correct things and create a positive experience was great! The GM, Mike, reached out to me personally via email and offered to give me and my family a second booking, free of charge.
I am super impressed with the customer service and treatment of clientele. Upon my return visit, they made sure that the experience was a lot more fluid and enjoyable.
The two rooms we did were Breaking Point and Horror on Hallow's Eve. Breaking Point has a cooler vibe to the room and multiple puzzles can be tackled by different people at the same time. Horror on Hallow's Eve is the perfect room if you're looking to feel a bit lost and experience some jump scares during your daring escape.
Warning: Horror on Hallow's Eve does have some very loud and sudden noises, so I do not recommend for people with sensitive hearing or hearing aids. Still a...
