Be prepared to be nickel and dimed to death at this hotel. I had much higher expectations from a Westin. First, the good: the lobby is nice enough, big and bright with lots of seating at the hotel lounge/bar area, the bed in the room was very comfortable, and there is starbucks coffee on site (available for purchase of course, and not open their posted hour so good luck finding it open). Other than those three things, this place is awful. There’s no breakfast provided, and the only restaurant on site has breakfast prices that start at $16 per person. There is no microwave available in the rooms, if you want to heat something up you have to find the lone microwave located in the tiny “store” located next to the lobby that has no sign. Would you like more bottled water for the coffee machine (usually provided at no cost by housekeeping in other hotels), nope, have to buy it from the secret store. Want WiFi? That will cost you a minimum of $10 per day for basic and $15 for faster. There are two pools, indoor and outdoor with a ln outdoor hot tub, but the indoor one smelled overwhelmingly like chlorine and the outdoor one was filthy, the bottom lined with leaves. Oh, and there is no fan in the bathroom so the room gets horribly humid when you shower. Taking a normal shower the windows in the bedroom were dripping with condensation, enough to cause pools of water on the windowsills. I can only imagine the amount of mold and mildew that is growing in the hidden areas of the room. The room is dated and dingy and doesnt match the look of the lobby. Locations: this place isn’t close to anything good that San Antonio has to offer. There’s only chain restaurants within walking distance, and nothing to do, so if you don’t have a car be prepared to pay $20 for an uber anytime you want to head into the interesting part of town. Oh, and no shuttle around town or to the airport either. The hotel bar, though it has amble seating with tvs to watch, has the most expensive drinks I’ve ever had at a basic hotel bar. A modelo was $8 and my basic gin and tonic was $19 without tip. We didn’t have a car, but that’s probably a good thing as there were signs warning not to leave anything in your car due to break ins. The parking lot is not secured in any way. The Westin name made me assume this place would have guest services and amenities in mind, but I was wrong. I would never stay here again.

This place needs to be knocked down and built again. No way is it worth the money they are paying. The receptionist the night we stayed was as cold as ice in her demeanor. You could tell she didn't want to be there, which is fine, I don't like being at my job, but I still act professionally. She barely uttered "thanks for being a platinum member " when I asked if there were any upgrades she sighed and said "you are already in one of our nicer rooms....well, I come to find out if that's true, then the other rooms must be terrible. I went to the bar, and I can safely say the barman didn't say one word to me... through the whole transaction, not one word. I've posted videos of the room. One is this crazy sound of water from upstairs ALL night. The other is the volume of the air and what it did to the bathroom door when it ran. Another video shows me TRYING to change the settings. There is also a picture of the shower... 1975 at the latest, I'd say. There will be more than likely a a trained response to this and a statement with an apology that states they are upgrading rooms... but that does not excuse charging what they charge right now in the present state. This is not the Marriott experience we are used to... but sadly, it's becoming more regular

My experience at The Westin San Antonio North was deeply disappointing. The initial room I was assigned had visible black mold and an unpleasant, musty odor. Although the staff promptly moved me to another room, it was evident that the entire hotel was in dire need of renovation. The carpet was stained and worn, the furniture outdated and chipped, and the bathroom felt damp and neglected. The only redeeming quality was the bed, which was clean, and comfortable. However, this did little to offset the overall sense of dilapidation. I dined at the hotel bar twice during my stay. The first meal was satisfactory, but after eating the same dish on the second visit, I became quite ill. This raised serious concerns about the hotel's food safety practices. I am truly baffled as to how this establishment has received any positive reviews. In my opinion, it fails to meet even the most basic standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Ultimately, I decided to cut my losses and move to another hotel (Aloft San Antonio UTSA Area), which was a far superior experience at a comparable price). I strongly advise anyone considering staying at The Westin San Antonio North to look elsewhere, regardless of its convenient location.

Pros: -Decent Pools (indoor and outdoor) -Gym/fitness Center -Sauna -Daily housekeeping in room (make bed, empty trash, fresh towels, etc) Note: Daily housekeeping is supposed to be included. However, after the 2nd day out of a 9 day stay we quit recieving this. The hosuekeeping for the 12th floor is lazy. On a daily basis I had to involve the front desk to request the daily house keeping even though this is supposed to be a standard part of their experience. -Central location -Included Toiletries -ATM in lobby

Cons: -Poor housekeeping services provide versus what is promised. Inconsistent housekeeping services; had to involve management to make housekeeping actually happen. -Thieving housekeeping -Poor continental breaks consisting of only bacon, sausage, waffle, bread items, pasteries, cerial, egg, juice/offee; $20.00 a person regardless of how much anyone eats. -Carpets dirty in common areas -Visible dust -Small rooms -Very ugly deep green wall paint -Some elevator buttons don't work forcing you to have to wait for another one to come -Parking lot under construction -Unstable internet connection

Overall experience began with our arrival at 4pm after two long flights in only to be told the room is not yet ready, despite having landed to a text message saying that the room is ready and we can check in at 2pm. We had to wait 30 minute more before the room became available. The promised daily housekeeping did not happen consisteny and I had to complain to management daily. Even after management said they had addressed it with the housekepeing supervisor, or by putting a "note" in the chart, it still did not happen unless I walked to the front desk daily and said "we are leaving for x-time, and I want the hosuekeeping". It is dissapoining to come back to the room at 5pm or so after a long day and then not have a made bed, no clean towels/wash cloth, and overflowing trashcans. We purchased some premium chocolate during our first day from a nearby store and opened it on the 5th day only to find half of them missing. Housekeeping staff are the only possible people who could have eaten the chocolate doing so by opening the cardboard container it was in, and then closing it again. Central location is convenient to exploring San Antonio and easy access to the nearby Freedman convention center. I would not stay here again, and I could not say that I was wowed enough by this hotel to be committed to returning to it in the future. The poor and thieving housekeeping seriously lowers the score for this hotel. Additionally, one of the nights a fire alarm went off at 7:00am in the morning for the whole floor/building. We walked all downstairs only to have staff appearing to be confused and not providing any guidance as to if it was a false alarm...

DO NOT STAY HERE, you have been warned!!! This will be our last stay at this hotel. I used to work here when it was an Omni hotel and it had gotten so bad now that it is The Westin. This particular stay was the worst and last straw. Every time we stay here it’s a terrible experience but we keep giving them another chance. First off, the website online states a 3pm check in time. We drove over 6 hours and arrived at 3pm. We were told they just changed the check in to 4pm two months ago, which is when I booked. We had dinner plans with reservations with another party that we did not make because after an hour and a half we still didn’t have a room. There were also about 20 other persons there waiting for rooms after 4:30pm. Since we had to wait for our room, I asked the concierge what time the bar opened. He said 3pm. I go to the bar to order a beer and was rudely told by the guy behind the bar that he is still setting up and I would have to wait another 15 mins. It was 3:20pm. We finally talked with a manager and got our room sometime after 4:30pm. The interaction with the manager was probably the only good experience we had. Our room smelled bad and definitely needs to be updated. The shower did not drain and we all had to shower in ankle deep water. We asked the front desk if a maintenance man could unclog or fix the drain and no one ever showed up. The second night we needed shower towels. We called and was told they are completely booked and it would be over an hour to get us towels. They told us it was be easier to go downstairs to the front desk and ask for some there. We did and was rudely told they didn’t have towels. We told the lady at the front desk that we were instructed to go to there for them and she then asked another lady if there were towels and she said yes. Why would you say you don’t have towels if you’re not 100% sure. All it took was a couple steps to walk and check. Not one time were we greeted with a smile and everyone working there needs some training on how you treat people especially when accommodating people is your business. This is absolutely not a 4 star hotel like they claim. Westin San Antonio North, you need to update your website and to achieve a 4-star rating, a hotel must offer upscale comfort and amenities, including spacious rooms, multiple restaurants, spa facilities, fitness centers, and high standards of service and cleanliness. This hotel does not offer upscale comfort and amenities, multiple restaurants, and definitely does not have high standard of service and...

The hotel location was great. Close to dinning, shopping and the highway. The hotel itself was clean and well staffed. They have one of those BIG Revolving doors at the entrance that of course had a 10 year old kid going round in cirles inside it. I was immediately jealous. Check in was super easy and they offer bottled water to bonvoy members. The hotel design itself is quite dated. Don't get me wrong, its classy...but 1985 classy. This used to be the Omni hotel years back. It also used to have a decent restaurant called Bollo's which is now the breakfast buffet area. No more restaurant. Although you can order food from the bar and eat pretty much anywhere in the lobby area. Which has plenty of seating. The bar staff is super nice and they make great drinks. The gym is well equipped with treadmills, ellipticals and weights. Towels and water are on hand too. There is an indoor pool and a sauna. Yes, an actual sauna. So you can sweat out all those Riverwalk margaritas. As for the room...we had some issues with grime in the shower and some dead bug parts in the little mini fridge cooler thing. So we switched rooms. The staff helped out with that. The next room was much cleaner. The rooms are exactly as outdated as the rest of the hotel but they were once again...Classy Outdated, so it was still kinda nice. Imagine the Overlook Hotel from the Shining...but without all the horror and demons and murder. The room had your basic coffee machine, TV, water and a little mini fridge cooler thing. I say "Cooler thing" because it was one of those drink coolers you get at Costco. It was not a true fridge. Do not put leftovers in there because they will not stay cold. Also....no microwave! If you wanna warm something up, you put it on the 120 degree window seal like a normal Texan. Or just leave it in the mini fridge where it will also stay nice and warm. Breakfast was decent. Bacon, eggs, sausage and a handful of other continental style options. I don't think the buffet is worth $20 though. If you get the room Upgrade with the breakfast included its not bad. But there is a Breakfast place about a block away that is really good called First Watch. We also got a free drink and half appetizer in the bar area every night at 5pm because we were Bonvoy members. That was nice. Overall...I would stay there again...especially since its one of the safer and better priced hotels in the Med Center area. Its like a 1999 Mercedes...yeah its old...a little beat up....and had a paint job or two.....but its...
