20 years it's been since I've gone back to County Line. I can't remember how it looked inside when I went but it still looks a little outdated but it is cozy plenty of room and it was comfortable. But beware you will smell like a barbecue restaurant when you leave. If that bothers you. It's a little dim for my liking. They have a very good menu something for almost everybody. The wait staff seems to be just about everybody that's walking around and I like that. Because all of them ask you is there anything you need. I do like the wait staff that my wife and I had very good. We order an appetizer that chips salsa / queso. And this was way more than two people need. The queso was wonderful salsa is good. My wife had a baked potato and a salad. She absolutely loved her potato everything that came with it. For salad well it's a salad. I had the three meat plate and you get two sides to pick with that as well. Now I do know sometimes it's hit or miss with any barbecue restaurant when you order extra lean with your brisket. Mine was dry and you are to expect that sometimes when you get extra lean so it was a little chewy. Wasn't actually my favorite but it does have a great smoked flavor. They do a great job as far as the flavor goes. The marble was a nice flavor as well. If it's going to be dry my suggestion would be possibly cutting a little thinner on the pieces. Otherwise do what my father used to do, use the fat backs lay on top of what you're going to use for extra lean. What I try the brisket again? Yes, I will. I will try regular next time. It's a very clean brisket so I will have no problem trying it again. Had the sausage. Now you can't screw up sausage so not much to input there. But it was a very good sausage. The barbecue sauce something about it that I don't really like but that could be a individual liking thing. I still used it because I wanted something. It's not bad it's just something that's not hitting me right with it. I got mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Because I figured it would be a smaller side. I was wrong, very wrong. I was expecting the macaroni and cheese just to be plain Bland and just nothing to it. Because other barbecue restaurants I've gone to hasn't been very good. This is some of the best Mac and Cheese I've ever had. The garlic mashed potatoes were absolutely wonderful and both side dishes were very large! My wife and I were very happy with the service and our food. That's a place we will definitely go back to. And I look forward to it I'm going to try some other meats. It's been around at least 20 years that I'm aware of possibly longer. If you haven't gone there try it. I believe you won't be...
Read moreOur server was nice, but didn’t seem to know much about the menu or at least didn’t offer any help. After some time reviewing the menu, he just let us order the “All You Can Stand” and later admitted that nobody ever orders that because it’s just “too much food”. He used that as an excuse also when we had to remind him multiple times what was included (such as the dessert). He said “sorry, I forgot since it’s been 6 months since anyone ordered the all-you-can-eat!” He never re-filled our drinks (which they charged for one lemonade, but I believe should’ve been included with the meal. Everyone else had water!!!). I wouldn’t have minded so much had the food been good (since you can take home leftovers) - but the food was mediocre at best. The pork ribs were decent, but the beef ribs, which were the reason we went there in the first place, were dry and barely had any edible meat on them. The brisket and turkey were also dry. And the BBQ sauce didn’t help to moisten anything (and just made things taste more salty). My boys, who can easily eat 2 steaks in one sitting, barely ate any of the meat! And they didn’t take one bite of the sides because those wouldn’t have been their first, second or even third choices on the expansive sides menu. The “forced” sides that came with the meal (beans, potato salad and coleslaw) were not good at all. Everything was salty salty salty with some tang and no sweet. They had so many other side options - they should let you choose them when everyone at the table is getting the most expensive thing on the menu! And what kids eat those sides! I wish that instead of spending all that money on food we didn’t eat or like, that each of us got our favorite types of BBQ meat with the sides of our choice. We would’ve spent a lot less money and may have gone home a lot happier. What seemed like the manager made his rounds at the end and asked how everything was, but I didn’t want to put a damper on an already bad experience (we were there celebrating an occasion!!) so I just responded that it was good. Of all the BBQ restaurants we’ve been to in Texas, this was definitely the worst experience. And the most expensive. Will NOT be going back again...
Read moreThe decor and feeling this place is what I would describe as Rustic Country Diner. When you first walk in you're greeted with bright neon lights on the wood wall and the smell of sizzling bbq meats. We were sat down and waited on nearly immediately. Drinks came and we ordered deviled eggs as an appetizer. The eggs were great with it's own bacon sauce to drizzle on top. The margarita we got had a strange taste and we actually sent it back later in the meal as it was just not drinkable. For our meal we decided to share a 5 meats plate which came with pork ribs, beef ribs, turkey, sausage and moist brisket..our two sides we're green beans and mashed potatoes. This was a very disappointing show of Texas BBQ. The ribs were all very tough and difficult to pull apart. The brisket was not very well seasoned and also a but dry. The green beans were rubbery and may or may not have come from a can. The only pieces of the meal we enjoyed we're the mash potatoes(which also.may be from a box), sausage and turkey. I'd be nervous ordering anything else in a sandwich, salad or otherwise. For the price, this place may be good for families? But in my opinion, Bill Miller has better BBQ for a better price. If you're going out to a nice dinner and want bbq, there's a lot of other options out there. Check my profile for some of the other bbq places in town I've enjoyed. Probably won't be back here. Service was great but the food...
