Update: After my stay, I checked my account and discovered another issue. When we first arrived, the hotel required a $200 deposit. My mom attempted to use her Social Security debit card, and the front desk agent swiped it and told us it had been declined. Because of that, I ended up paying with my own card. However, three days later, we saw that the $200 deposit had in fact been withdrawn from my mom’s account. When I called the front desk to resolve this, I spoke with Ralph, who was extremely rude and dismissive. He told me flatly that there was “no charge on here” and only referenced the card I had used. When I explained I was on the phone with her bank, who confirmed the charge, he snapped at me and insisted it would clear in “two to five days.” This is completely unacceptable..an unauthorized charge and highly unprofessional customer service.
I recently stayed at the Hyatt. When I first checked in, I was warmly welcomed by a wonderful woman at the front desk who was kind and professional, which gave me a great first impression.
The next morning, however, I had a very different experience. Around 9:30 a.m., I went downstairs for coffee. The sign at the bar said, “Wait a minute, we’ll be right back.” When a staff member returned—a man with dark hair and glasses, whose name I believe was Rogettio—I politely asked what time the coffee service would begin. His response was startling: “I’m not going to make you coffee. I’m closing the bar.” When I said I understood, he added, “I’m not making you coffee anytime soon.”
What upset me even more was how he treated me compared to others. I watched him be pleasant and helpful with other guests, yet with me, he rolled his eyes, wouldn’t make eye contact, and dismissed me in a way that felt openly disrespectful. I was left wondering why I was singled out. I live with a disability and was limping that morning, and it made me question if that played a role in how I was treated.
This encounter was humiliating and deeply disappointing. Guests deserve respect and basic courtesy, regardless of the situation. Sadly, this overshadowed what could have been a positive stay, and I would not return to...

Review:
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt Place San Carlos, and I must say, it was an experience that far exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism that set the tone for my entire stay.
A special shoutout to Matthew, the Sales Director, who went above and beyond to assist me with a personal request. When I needed quarters for laundry, Matthew promptly and graciously provided them, demonstrating the kind of attentive and personalized service that makes a hotel stay truly memorable.
The front desk staff also deserves recognition for their exceptional service. They kindly upgraded my room, ensuring my comfort and satisfaction were paramount. It's these thoughtful gestures that make a world of difference in hospitality.
As for the dining experience, it was delightful. The bartender not only served great drinks but also recommended the quesadillas, which were absolutely delicious. It's rare to find such genuine and friendly service, and I appreciated the bartender's effort to enhance my dining experience.
The room itself provided a perfect haven for a good night's rest. It was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, reflecting the high standards of Hyatt Place.
And let's not forget about the breakfast! It was a treat, especially the bacon, which was, without exaggeration, some of the best I’ve had in a long time. The quality of the food and the variety offered were impressive.
In summary, my stay at the Hyatt Place San Carlos was nothing short of fantastic. The exceptional staff, from Matthew to the front desk and the bartender, all played a significant role in making my stay pleasant and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for quality accommodation with outstanding service. Looking forward to...
Read moreMy recent stay at this new Hyatt hotel in San Carlos was nothing short of exceptional, spanning across 11 delightful days. The establishment, being brand new, was impressive, and the level of service provided was excellent, even if there is always room for improvement.
Matthew and Hien, with their warm and smiling service, truly enhanced my stay. They created an atmosphere of comfort, a welcome contrast to the bustling, sometimes cold city outside.
I must also acknowledge Rogerio's delectable breakfast preparations. Each morning, he served up a fresh array of food that started my day on a high note.
The abundant parking space was another advantage; I had easy access to my vehicle in what felt like a personal basement parking garage. For those seeking tranquility, the hotel's quiet ambiance is a real benefit, making it a prime location for families.
Strategically situated between San Francisco and San Jose, and with easy access to HW101, this hotel simplifies travel to a wide range of destinations.
