This is among the 5 negative reviews I have ever written. My view is that one should highlight strengths and give folks a break when things are less than perfect. I feel it is worth a negative review when an Innkeeper is a cheat. If I am cheated, the chances are good that others will be cheated too. I have learned that I am not alone. I arrived at the hotel to check in to my pre-paid room. I gave the innkeeper my identification and bank debit card for the room deposit. He says they won't take a debit card. This is annoying since this is not condition listed on the booking site. He points to printed sign posted on the window. The fact that this information is not available when making the reservation is the problem. Information only obtained after making a prepaid reservation is a bait and switch. I did not like it but I agreed to pay the deposit with a credit card, as requested. I opened my Apple Pay, ready to have my credit card charge. "Oh no, can only take the deposit with physical card." Bait and switch again. I don't have the physical card. Only Apple Pay. I offer to give him the deposit in cash. After far too much discussion, he agrees to take the $200 deposit in cash but only give me a receipt if I give him a physical credit card! I did not like it, but I agree. I ask him for the public Wi-Fi password (advertised as free) and he refused to give it to me because the code is for "registered guests only." I have paid for a room, and he refuses to check me in or refuses to even give me the lobby password to allow me to move funds to my debit card so to withdraw the cash for the deposit. I think he realized that the cash withdrawal from the ATM at check in time would provide me a receipt for the transaction he wanted to go beneath the radar. At his point, I spoke the obvious. "You are not going to check me in to this room, are you?" He said he could not since I had not met the conditions required. I told him I expected a refund. He laughed and pointed out my reservation was non-refundable. ||Buyer beware. This is a scam they pull here if they overbook or have not cleaned the room, or if they took under the table cash to rent your room and pocket the cash.||I was cheated plain and simple. It was as straight-forward as holding a gun and demanding cash. RIP...

Last week I made a reservation through Travelocity for 3 nights. The reservation was made a couple hours before check-in. I’d stayed here before. The manager allowed me to check-in early given the rain and me having a suitcase. Both Travelocity and Soma Park Inn guaranteed “high level of sanitation and safety” for their guests.
The outdoor/parking lot elevator smelled quite badly of urine.
Im not one to nitpick, but when a room is unsanitary, it poses a health risk...especially with COVID-19.
Upon entering the room, it didn’t take long to notice the furniture was badly marked, ceiling light broken, hair and dirt in drawers, sticky clear gel on the floor and the appliances were not wiped down. It looked rough. Also, The wall behind the toilet had feces stuck to it. With that, I was done.
Suffice it to say it was really gross. I contacted Travelocity to see what my options were. Upon contacting the property I was informed I would be charged for that night, since I was outside the 24-hour cancellation window. Remember, I booked the room 2 hours prior. Also I had been in the room, therefore I had “used the room.”
I left. Upon meeting up with a local friend, I was informed that since April and up until a week or so prior, this property had been requisitioned by the city of San Francisco to house the homeless that had symptoms/diagnosis of COVID-19, been in close contact with COVID-19 or were recovering. No mention was made at Travelocity and/or by the hotel. This hotel was not cleaned to any CDC/SF Health Department Standard.
Being a person with a weakened immune system and pulmonary/cardiovascular conditions, this scared me. There needs to be mention made of this across all hotels used by the city in fairness...
Read more4/14/18. THEY HAVE BED BUGS!! THEY HAVE BED BUGS oh did I tell you THEY HAVE BED BUGS!!!! Completely rude when I spoke to them about it like it's never happened before but as I now look at there yelp review I see that been had them. I woke up from sleeping like at 1230am and had red welts all over my arms, back, neck and leg and immediately went downstairs to speak to owner(short Indian woman) which acted so shocked as she looked at the bites on my arm and neck and told me get cortizone cream and she will pay for it as well as would switch my room. I wanted to leave but it was so late I had no choice but to stay (terrible idea) so when I woke up in the morning after a whole night of itching skin and even worse looking bites I went back downstairs and told the person at the front desk that that I'm leaving early and I'm disgusted with the 24 bites I had on my body and that this is unacceptable for a hotel and wanted a complete refund( it's not about the money it's the principal) he begged and told me how sorry he is and that he spoke to the owner and they are going speak to Expedia to get the funds back into my account but at the moment he could not do anything and to call later. I called later that day around 7pm and the owner picked up and I proceeded to tell her that the person at the front desk earlier that morning told me I will be refunded for the terrible stay and she had no plans of doing that and even yelled over the phone and hung up on me , I called back a few times and they ignored my calls. I guess I need to forget the 116 dollars but want warn everybody about this filthy BED BUG...
