Great stay, great price. A few things could be done better however those things weren’t a huge issue to my overall satisfaction with our stay. I would definitely stay here again.
The location is great. Easy freeway access. We were within a 10 minute drive to Winchester Mystery House, Santana Row, Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum, grocery stores and restaurants.
Check in and check out was easy. Though there wasn’t always someone at the check in desk. I walked in twice after check in, once to request something for our room and lastly for check out. Those two times no one was at the desk I had to say “Hello?” to alert a staff member that I was there. I think there should be someone at the desk at all times to greet anyone who comes in.
The room was great, it was clean and tidy. The closets and bedding were nice. The couch pulled out to a bed. The kitchen was good except the silverware drawer had limited utensils; for a suite that can sleep six there was not enough - 4 big forks, one spoon and 2 or 3 knives. Cookware and dishes were sufficient. I went to the main office to ask for spoons and the receptionist gave me some plastic spoons. Perhaps I should have called housekeeping.
The pool was nice, it was warmed enough to feel good on a spring day but not so warm as a bath. It wasn’t a huge pool but big enough for my kids and a couple adults to enjoy. There were towels for drying off after and even some pool noodles and a beach ball to play with. The pool grounds with the mini roses all around was very pretty, there was plenty of seating, and even a bbq.
Breakfast was confusing. Throw away plates but reusable bowls. No instructions on where to put the reusable bowls. There was a tiny pitcher of half & half and another pitcher of milk - which ran out quickly. No pancakes or waffles, my kids were disappointed about that. Premade egg bites, sausages with cheese to make a breakfast sandwich, and dry oatmeal to put in a microwave with about 6 different mix-ins. I think the only fruits were bananas and whole apples? I don’t recall. Breakfast could definitely be improved. I’d go out to breakfast or have my own food in my...
Read moreThe hotel itself was fine. However, when I got home, I found a charge on my credit card for $150.00 dollars for pets. We were in San Jose because my son is very ill with a heart condition and was being treated at a hospital in San Jose. We have one dog who was in a boarding kennel. The visit was not for pleasure. When I called the hotel to question the charge, I was told the housekeepers found hair all over the carpet and they have pictures to prove it. I was told I had two dogs in the room which they were not told about. I told them that we only have one dog and she was in boarding back in our town. I have the boarding papers to prove it. We have also used the same vetrinarian for years who can vouch that he only cares for one dog from our home. I asked to see copies of the pictures and was told they would be emailed to me, but I have not received them. Our room was right off of the main lobby. We came and went through that lobby many times. I asked them to check their surveillance cameras and they would see that we did not have dogs with us but they said the only camera they have is at the registration desk and would not capture us entering and exiting. It is not the money that disturbs me. It was an attack on my character. I am a well-respected professional. We are under a lot of stress with my son who has been very ill. We are good and honest people. They would not even consider trying to make sure they had the right room. They insisted we had two dogs in the room. I told them to keep the $150. It is not worth the energy right now to fight with them. I need my energy for my son. But I wish someone would investigate this. If they are doing this to me, they are probably doing it to other people and it is not right. It is...
Read moreWe stayed in a 2-bedroom suite for 8 nights while our house was being re-piped. Two adults and one dog. The suite is like a true 2-bedroom apartment. We were able to arrange an early check-in and late check-out at no extra charge. Staff was friendly, helpful, tended to every need. Well laid out, clean, modern. Decoration is minimalist. Tons of intuitive storage spaces.
TVs in both bedrooms, plus the living room. The internet speed is fast, and we were allowed to use our Roku to watch streaming television during our stay. We also hooked up a DVD player. The TVs all have component and HDMI hookup capabilities.
The property and the room is relatively quiet. Walls are thick, windows double paned. Heater/AC quieter than most hotels. The people above us were quite loud with stomping on their floor - we are pretty sure their kids were doing gymnastics - but you can't hear normal walking activity above you. The kitchen is narrow, but still easy enough to cook full meals in. It would be helpful if the refrigerator door opened the opposite direction. The lighting in the bathroom is too low, and can cause eye strain. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure. Bedroom windows face north or south and allow for very nice natural lighting.
Nice grassy area at the back of hotel for dogs, and doggie bags and trash cans are provided. We used the lobby a few times to print stuff. There's a snack shop in the lobby with fruit, frozen meals, and typical stuff you'd find in a vending machine. Coffee in the lobby and coffee makers in the rooms - grounds, not k-cups.
This is a great property and is really helpful with minimizing the inconveniences of having to live away from your home. It's great for...
