I just picked up their yangnyum chicken, came home, took two bites and threw away the whole thing. This is by far the worst chicken I had in my life. I don't want to sound so dramatic, but I am not exaggerating. Where do I start. The breading, I will pass on that. I can see some people liking it. I asked the sauce to be on the yangnyum chicken. They drizzle it over the chicken. They didn't toss it in the sauce like how true Korean yangnyum chicken supposed to be. The sauce...omg. Their sauce is based on korean gochujang that gives very chalky taste for sauce. This is where I said, these people have never own a restaurant before. They don't know how to cook. But the worst part was, the oil. I could taste the old oil. With fried chicken business, they need to change the oil almost everyday to every other day depending on the amount of chicken they fry. I could taste the old, stale oil, in their breading (the breading they used is the type to absorb maximum oil as possible). They use frozen chicken. And either they didn't thaw it right or their cooking temp is off. The meat was dry. I am gonna go pick up Popyes. I will never ever order from here. I do not understand how it...
Read moreHard to not give this place 5 star. The indoor dining area is small so orders might get backed up, but the quality of the wings themselves are very good. Solid chunky size. The cook is near flawless. I got the Namyung extra spicy and it was extremely honey forward in stickiness and sweetness but I didn't really get much of any spice. I am a bit of a spice fiend so my baseline might be higher but compared to the dozens of Korean fried chicken places I've had this was possibly the mildest for its spiciest flavor offering.
So the downsides are spiciness, and wait times, the pickled radish is also not my favorite. But the upsides are great wing quality, great cook job even in the light of backed up orders. No rushing things or low fry temperatures. I gotta give it a 5 though maybe 4.5 is where I'd set it based on my...
Read moreWe ordered a few things for takeout because we were curious about there being two Korean chicken restaurants so close to each other.
Got their boneless chicken sampler so that we could try all the flavors. They're all pretty interesting and unique! Yangnyum (mild): sort of like sweet and sour sauce, with a little spice. Savory soy: similar to the "soy garlic" option at other Korean chicken places. Creamion: reminds me a little of "sour cream and chives" chips. Cheese dust: reminds me a little of "cheddar" Pringles Katsu matsu: similar in taste to those mild Japanese curry cubes.
They forgot our radish in our takeout order, so we didn't get to try that this time.
The seafood pancake was good. A little on the doughy side, but still tasty. Also ordered the bulgogi japchae and I thought it was quite tasty. Very...
