Went here simply to get dressed in my buddy's room "the groom" for his wedding. About 5 feet in front of my buddy's room one of the workers stopped me due to my dog. He told me animals were not allowed. I explained I understood the no pet policy, but my dog is not a pet but a service dog "certified by slo county" and that if it's that big of a deal she could sit out side the room for the couple minutes it would take me to get dressed "being a groomsman". He started getting mad and extremely rude. He demanded proper documentation. I showed him the CSD tag. Then he said "that is not good enough" and demanded to see my doctors paperwork. I calmly explained that legally anyone is only allowed to ask to see her tag or ask what services she provides, but I would show him the paper from animal services just not my private medical history. He flipped his top and told me he was calling the cops because I wouldn't show him proper documents. Even though the paper work was in my hand and was even handed to him. He threw his hands up yelling at me telling me the cops were on there way. Not trying to ruin my friends wedding I put my service dog back in my truck and parked off the property got dressed and went on with the tight schedule weddings run on. With no time to fight the situation I feel this guy thinks he was in the right. One way or another he needs to be informed of the legalities of service animals. The next person he does this to might not be in such a rush and legally can slap a lawsuit on the company. This is not why people have service animals. The whole reason behind service animals is to live a normal life like everyone else, not be...
Read moreEasy check-in. Very easy to check out. I said the room number and handed the front desk clerk the key cards and I got a thank you, a wave and a smile. The bathroom was updated at least a couple of years ago with a nice shower. No fan so the window had to be opened to clear the moisture. A bit of a neusance. The microwave oven was old and weak plus noisy. The TV remote didn't change channels or the volume. It only turned the TV on and off and accessed the Guide. Removed batteries and replaced--same thing. Useless. The coffee maker was fit for tossing over the balcony. Made some tea and had specs of dirt or something into the previously clean cup. Don't see how coffee grounds would get into the water since it's contained in a bag. Unplugged and never used again. The closet was barely usable for two people for 3 nights since it is very small and only had 5 hangers. No hair dryer. Towels seem to be an issue here. Asked for two additional towels and was given a third the next day and each day had to ask again. Not sure why we couldn't get four towels. My wife uses two all the time; one for the body and one for her hair. We had noisy neighbors two of the three nights. I don't understand why annoying people have to talk loudly on their cell phone out on the balcony when they have a perfectly good room to use. And lastly, not happy with getting a 2nd floor room when I parked in handicap. Parking was never an issue; although a bit of a challenge when deliveries were made blocking 1/4 of the...
Read moreI stayed here recently with my 10yo daughter on our drive down from the Bay Area to LA. It was fine for one night but I couldn't imagine staying here any longer. I snagged the last parking spot, which was fortuitously right in front of the room I was assigned. But be forewarned that parking is not guaranteed. There was a sign that stated parking was on a first come, first served basis. This in itself would dissuade me from staying here again. The room was tiny but contained a table and two chairs, fridge, microwave. Everything was clean. I was worried about the noise since we were just off the parking lot and there was a room above us, but we slept soundly. Beds were comfortable but the pillows were a tad lumpy. Easy walk to downtown for ice cream the night before and breakfast the next morning. I paid about $284 total for the room, which seems high but I guess that's the market rate. Very convenient getting on and off the freeway, with a gas station right in front to fill up before continuing on your car trip. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's stress-inducing to be told that you would be charged $50 for every 30 minutes you overstay your welcome. As anyone with young kids knows, it's hard to get them to move quickly when you want them to! We left our room at 10:59 a.m. and I hustled over to the lobby to return my key, stressed the...
