Edit 3/10/25 we figured out the payment issue. Make sure you send an actual check to the bank. But now we’re trying to get a hold of the warranty people and they keep giving us the run around. So we purchased a bed like 10 months ago, the frame has broken, and the warranty people have ghosted? I’m at my wits ends.

Don't ever buy from Mattress Firm if you're using a promotion to finance. I have sent Synchrony Bank (the bank that financed my purchase) several payments over the last couple of weeks. Each payment has left my bank account. But then I get a message from Synchrony that they weren't able to process the payment and sent it back.

NO money has been returned to me. I'm having to file a dispute, sending bank statements now. I'm supposed to have this bed interest free for three years. It kinda seems like they don't want me to make that goal.

While I appreciate the sales team helping me find a bed I find comfortable, I can't sleep now.

Update : it’s now 3/19 and this bank has yet to resolve the issue even though I’ve sent all the required paperwork. Seems “they didn’t get it.” So I’m sending it again. Oh also, they’ve increased my minimum payments. How am I meant to use their interest free promotion if they keep losing my money? How am I meant to pay a higher minimum payment if they literally won’t accept or process anything I send them? Just take it out of my account and the principal never falls….

Seriously, mattress firm needs a better banking partner. This is irresponsible and careless.

4/4 - still no response and still no payments reflected in the principal, no matter how I try to pay. They accept take my money but don’t do anything but the principal. I’m in hell.

4/19 - I sent a paper check, which they cashed on 4/2. It has left my bank account completely. It reflected on the principal as being taken out. Location: Mattress Firm 2223 IH 35 South (Next to Discount Tire) San Marcos, TX. Joshua Irvin’s customer service was absolutely amazing! There are 3 Mattress Firms located within 2 miles from our home in San Antonio, TX. I went online to do some research and look at reviews. Josh’s location in San Marcos, TX was the only one near San Antonio with the Purple Mattress to try and had top reviews. The next morning I called the store and Josh was very friendly, professional and pleasantly informative. Zero pressure! I’ve been in management, customer service and sales for over 20 years. I have to say that his customer service level and product knowledge is 2nd to none. We decided to drive over an hour from S. San Antonio to test the bed and work with Josh. Once we arrived he remembered my name and what we were looking for. He showed us the Purple Mattress and we fell in love with it! Josh noticed my hesitation on the price as it was more than I originally wanted to spend. He pulled out several other high quality memory foam mattresses for us to try that were also very comfortable at great price points. After testing out 6+ mattresses, we decided to go ahead and purchase the Purple Mattress 3. He took the time to search for any available discounts and clearance items to help us save some money. He even had the items transferred in from another city! We got an amazing deal on the mattress, adjustable bed platform, pillows and mattress protector. Compared to buying online, not only did we save hundreds of dollars, we received VIP Customer Service. It was definitely worth the drive and highly recommend Joshua Irvin to help you buy your next mattress!

I had come in looking for a particular mattress brand. This place had all of the models in stock. First of all, this place is not a "Clearance Center". There is a "Clearance" section. I was told these are mattresses that are returns that were professionally cleaned and are sold at a big discount with zero warranty. If you are thinking the whole store is a "Clearance" store. That is not the case. Secondly, I will say I will give my salesman a "A" for effort. He was young and hungry. When I went in, I felt like I was at a car dealership with the hard sell. The young guy kept pushing me to put 10% down. He even tried to tell me that special "deal" would not be here if I came back. Really? There is a reason why you have so many stores all over creation. It is because the markup on mattresses is so high.

I did end up buying a mattress. Not from Mattress Firm. I did go elsewhere. Ironically, I got the same deal these guys were offering and guess what? I did not have to feel like I was "pressured" to buy anything. Ironically my wife mentioned that the salesman was "young and hungry" as he tried to close the deal. The salesman was knowledgeable and did make a lot of good suggestions in terms of mattresses. If he toned it down, I might have pulled the trigger with him. So please stop the "high pressure sales", you might earn more business and please stop calling this place a "Clearance Center".
