The Tortuga Beach Club is easily the best place to stay in Florida! Sanibel Island is ranked as having some of the best beaches in the world and The Tortuga Beach Club gives you unparalleled beach front access!

The units have all of the amenities that you could ever need! We had an amazing view of the beach and beautifully appointed grounds. The office staff is always helpful with recommending a fun one-of-a-kind outing (we took a great sunset cruise) or an unforgettable spot to dine (Island Pizza is a must try). There are even daily activities and crafts for the kids! Poolside lunches and cocktails mean you don't even need to leave the comfort of your chaise! The full kitchens in each unit allowed us to grill out and have a quality family dinner!

This is NOT one of those over-crowded resorts where you're left fighting for a spot by the pool or run out of the hot tub by unaccompanied minors.

Nice Grounds, nice view of ocean on end buildings. Our guest room smelled mouldy so i had to sleep on the couch. One pool and one hot tub, both fairly busy. Lots of seniors with grandchildren here. No pool bar. Some activities such as volleyball nets and tennis courts and golf. About Sanibel: beach consists of crushed shells, feels like broken glass to walk on. Water is super cloudy. Have to pay a toll to come onto island every time (i think it was $6 per car). But the dealbreaker part for me about Sanibel was the infestation of these little biting gnats (no see-ems). Apparently they are an issue with the entirety of Florida, yet I have been to Marco Island, Daytona, Panama Beach, and Orlando multiple times and never encountered these bugs... so perhaps these places spray for them but Sanibel doesn't? What a wonderful break this was! Stayed in an upstairs, two story condo. So close to the beach! Water was warm and shallow a long way out, so safe for the kids too. Very peaceful. Staff were helpful and friendly. We had an AC issue, which was taken care of instantly by the in site team. Very clean, with COVID protocols in place. Do shop for groceries before heading into the island, there are more options in the mainland. Then relax and enjoy!
