I was traveling home, to Chico, Calif. My best friend of 50 yrs..needed me Husband just died .. I didn't want to take my car almost 600 miles each way from Chico to Huntington Beach/San Clemente From South Orange county to castaic the indicator light on my dashboard..AT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.. Because I was about to start up the grapevine, I knew it would be very hard on my car and I was so scared that I was going to blow it up, in transitioning through a divorce I won't have much until the settlement so that little Mazda is the only vehicle for me to use for work so I didn't want to stop I wanted to get home but it's better than blowing my car up I chose to park the car I got a room and it was about $98. I think I checked in around 11:00 am the lady at the counter was absolutely wonderful As I got closer to the room the exterior of the building is in dire need of cleaning or painting there were cobwebs over my doorway and the walkways are black and dirty, I get in the room and it's kind of a dark interior decorating the curtains are yellow and dirty the floor is sticky it's just gross and I'm not super picky but I felt so depressed I kept looking around for bugs and there's cobwebs in the inside the walls in the corners The TV is small, the cable is minimum. At best. The entire room has this dingy dirty grimy feeling about it. Everything was sticky and grimy and smelled bad people had smoked in that room many times I was told that there's no smoking in the rooms that room used to be a smoking room there were cobwebs and then when I saw some kind of a bug I don't know if it was a roach? Once I saw it crawl across my bed I was just laying across the bed on the bedspread not even inside yet, in this bug huge. Pretty sure it was a cockroach 🪳 and for every cockroach you see there's 50. Hiding. I actually left at 230. I was in that room for 2 and 1/2 hours. And I was disgusted $100 there's no way I could have stayed the night there even outside it felt ghetto and inside was worse they tried to keep it clean or make it look decent but you can feel the dirt and you can smell the terrible smoke So I took my chances. I had to drive so slow stopping at my car rest because it was so hot still I didn't want to blow my car up.. it took me an extra 4 hours more for me to get home yesterday I've driven that route billions of times the longest hottest drive of my life the scariest and I wasted $100. I really think I should get a refund.. Or half.. I couldn't stay more than 3 hours I. This dingy motel.. The only thing good about the whole place was a nice lady at the front desk when I checked in...
Read moreThe hotel is located within easy driving distance of six flags, like 10 minutes, which was perfect for us. The guy who checked us in was kind and helpful, as was the one who checked us out.
The continental breakfast was pretty dismal- some make-your-own waffles, cereal, and ok coffee.
There’s a pool and hot tub that are open until midnight - just to make sure to tell the office that you plan to use it so they turn it on.
The room - this was where we had our issues. First, the phone wasn’t plugged in, and when we plugged it in it didn’t work so there was no way to contact the fro t desk except by walking down or by calling the number listed on Google and hoping it reached them. There was hair on our hand towels and the towels for the shower were pretty grungy with a couple stains. The shower water was hot which was great, but the tub was peeling, chipped, and stained which gave it a pretty ghetto feel. And there was also what appeared to be a booger on the body wash dispenser. It made it feel like it may have not been cleaned, or at least not thoroughly cleaned since the last guest. This made it hard to feel like a welcome guest. When we went to get in bed, our mattress had a hole from a cigarette in it covered only by the sheet. Lastly, the walls are pretty thin so just keep in mind that you can hear your neighbors to a certain degree.
All in all, we would probably stay again because it’s a good price, but you are definitely getting what you paid for and if you are looking for a more clean, safe feel, then this may not be the...
Read moreThe worst hotel I have ever stayed at. There was yellow coming out of the sink; a bug came up from the faucet as well. The covers felt like a sheet; it was very scratchy and uncomfortable. The pillowcases were basically paper. The toilet had grey markings on it. The shower also had this yellow stain by the drain. We purposely had a non-smoke room and the stench of the place was like an abandoned home filled with dust, so I wonder what the smoke room would smell like. We booked a stay for three nights and only stayed for one, and that was because we had to absolutely stay that one night. I am aware this isn't a 5-star hotel but this was by far the worst hotel I have ever been in and I have stayed at hostels and other 2-star hotels before. They change the wifi every night, so if you want to wake up and use your phone it is impossible, the service barely works as well. I called the hotel to see when check in time is and somebody said "Who is this?" very angrily, then hung up once I stated my name. The only good thing I have to say about this hotel is the staff is very kind when I got there. The cleaning lady came back when we were in a hurry to get out the door, and the man at front desk was very helpful as well. All in all, do not stay here. Spend the extra 20 dollars for a quality stay. I normally don't write reviews but I don't want someone to have the experience we had when all we wanted was to have fun and...
