We checked in on 26th of June 2025 to a 2 queen room. We were travelling with 4 people, 2 of which were very tall. While checking in, Katie, the receptionist was rude to the elderly lady in front of me, but slightly better towards me.
We got to the room and immediately noticed the beds were doubles, not queens. The room was also very damp/humid. I went to the front desk and told Katie about the beds, and she was extremely rude, acted like I was stupid and assured me they were queens. I went back to my room and got my friend who is just over 6' to lay down and her feet were hanging off the edge. I downloaded a ruler app to make sure the measurements were for a double, and not a queen as Katie had already lied. Sure enough the bed was almost a foot shorter than a queen, and 5 inches (ish) more narrow than a queen.
We went back out to Katie who told us we were wrong, again. We said we needed a new room as my friend quite literally did not fit on the bed. I asked to speak to some else, a manager or something. She told us that we could stay or check out and that was it. She lied again and said the beds were queens then 2 seconds later said they dont offer queens.
I told her I would be checking out and wanted confirmation that the documents I signed (for room, damage deposit etc) were destroyed as we didn't stay. She said no. I asked her to put a cross through it, she said no. I asked her to inspect the room to confirm that there was no damage and give us written confirmation for that and state that I would not be charged anything.
She got extremely rude and HID my paperwork under her keyboard and said I am not allowed to have ANYTHING that I signed as it is internal paperwork. All I wanted was confirmation. She refused and said she would call police if we did not leave. I told her I was happy to wait for police to confirm that the room was in the same state it was as when we got there.
While I was waiting for police, a man walked in and said his key wasn't working and she asked what room he was in and he replied "125" and she coded his key without even checking to see if it was actually his room. I am SO happy we checked out.
When police came, they were SO lovely and laughed at the situation and made her show them the room, which was allllll we wanted.
I would not recommend this hotel at all. The room was very humid as well. We are at the Hilton now and omg it is sooooo...
Read moreWe booked La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham mainly because we were planning to spend a few days at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor. The location was convenient for that purpose, and the hotel offered free breakfast, which made it a practical choice.
We had no real expectations, as it's a 3-star hotel, and for the price, it delivered a reasonable experience. Check-in was very quick – done in about 1.5 minutes. The front desk staff wasn’t overly friendly, but for such a short interaction, it wasn’t a big issue.
The hotel is located on a hill (locals refer to it as “Burger Hill”) with several other hotels and plenty of nearby restaurants where you can grab a bite in the morning or evening. Very convenient after a long day at the theme parks.
The included breakfast was very basic. For American standards, it’s something, but compared to European breakfasts, it’s quite limited. You can toast bread, eat some eggs and bacon, and make your own waffles – but don’t expect fresh croissants, ham, or cheese. As Europeans, we’re probably just a bit spoiled in that regard.
A real downside was the parking situation. While parking is free (which is a plus), every night the lot was filled with commercial vehicles from various companies. That made it nearly impossible for us to find a spot, which was frustrating after long days out.
The hotel also has a swimming facility, and we were happy to find the water pleasantly warm great for some relaxation in the evening.
All in all, it’s a decent place to stay if you keep your expectations realistic. The location worked perfectly for our Six Flags visit, but there are definitely a few things that could...

I was stressing out the day I booked this hotel because I waited until the last minute to reserve a hotel. I was searching for about 2 hours when I came across this one. I didn’t see too many negative reviews and the price was reasonable. From the moment I arrived, the night attendant was welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I was in my room in no time.
The room itself was clean, beautifully decorated, and everything I needed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the complimentary Dove shampoo, body wash, lotion and the well-stocked coffee and tea station.
One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's pool/ jacuzzi area. It provided a perfect spot to unwind after a day of driving. Only downside is they close the pool/ jacuzzi area at 10pm. The following morning, I went downstairs to the on-site breakfast buffet which was another high point—simple food, diverse options and served at a reasonable time.
This hotel is ideal, with easy access to Six Flags and the 5 freeway. It made getting around a breeze, and I was able to not have to worry about driving too much.
Overall, La Quinta Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of outstanding service, great accommodations, and prime location makes it a top choice for anyone visiting Santa Clarita or planning a trip to Six Flags. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend...
