I very rarely write negative reviews, but I have to say that was so disappointed in my recent reservation at Comfort Suites Six Flags Magic Mountain, that I just had to share my experience. I travel quite a bit for my business, and I am a frequent guest at many hotel establishments around the USA.
I knew I would be coming to this area in April months ago, so I booked a 4-night stay and thought I was taking advantage of a so-called "Lowest Price Guarantee" program the hotel chain offers. I paid for all four nights on a non-refundable obligation, thinking that I was getting the "lowest price" and that it was "guaranteed" based on the promise of the program. Much to my displeasure, I found out that this advertisement was just absolutely false, and quite frankly, a blatant lie.
A few months after I booked the room, I found out that the hotel was offering the same rooms I had previously booked and paid for, at a much cheaper rate than what I had paid. I was quite surprised at this for I thought I was getting the lowest price (as advertised) and that it was guaranteed to be the lowest price (also as advertised). I called the hotel directly, and was so disappointed that the hotel would not live up to their promise, and said that the rates change based on the time of the booking. I explained that I had paid in full thinking I was getting the lowest price and that was why I decided to book in advance and pay in full. The hotel manager would not budge. I was stuck with paying a much higher price for each night and much to my disappointment, I found out that it was not a "guarantee" after all. I even called corporate, and corporate would not budge either, saying it was at the discretion of the hotel property. I ended up paying much more money than I would have, had I not pre-booked under the blatantly false "lower price guarantee" that was promised to me, and not delivered upon.
It is extremely disappointing to say the least, that this hotel property is more concerned about their technicalities in their own rules in which they are competing with only themselves, than they are about satisfying their customers. A good practice that says that you truly care about your customers and their business, is honoring what you promise and doing whatever it takes to satisfy your customers. I do not feel that my request was out of line or unfair. I only wanted simply what was promised to me by booking in advance. Nothing else.
Furthermore, absolutely nothing was done to satisfy this, despite verbalizing multiple times my very legitimate complaint to the hotel manager and staff. Nothing! Not a single thing! This is false advertisement, misleading promises, and terrible business practice and because of this, you can be assured that I will never spend my money on this property any longer. I hate to say this, but it is...

Breakfast is standard hotel free breakfast. Likely powdered eggs, microwaved, sausage, bacon, or ham (depending on rotation), waffles (cinnamon while we were there), bagels, toast, danishes, cereal, yogurt, juices, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and milk. Small outside eating area for the nice mornings too. Please consider giving the breakfast lady at least $1/room/day. $1 for your family to have breakfast is a pretty good deal that helps out someone helping you. Many tip maids but forget about her.
Rooms really need some help though. Rusted shower head, tub and sink drains, and discolored/missing caulk at base of toilet. They provide about 10, outdated usb connections and several standard plugs. Problem is, most of the plugs are worn out and hardly hold a plug and outdated usb doesn't help Like $7/room replacement cost of plugs pllus cost of maintenance guy for an hour would fix that. Little things really make the difference. A scuffed wall (which would be nice to fix too) can be forgiven if people can plug in all their crap.
Hotels should just do a way with carpet and go all laminate, wood, or whatever. Easier to clean and actually clean instead of holding onto whatever fluids have been in it. They also need to switch to all smart tvs or make sure a usable HDMI port is available for external viewing devices (firestick, apple tv, phones/tablets/laptops) for people to bring their entertainment. Beds are pretty comfortable as are sheets and blankets.
Parking is pretty good. Several spots and they don't charge to park. Gets a bit full at night when busy (our 2 recent trips were 4th of July and now Halloween). Enough spots just might not get close to your needed door.
Location is probably my favorite thing. Yes, about 10min farther from Magic Mountain the the ones right there at MM Pkwy and the 5 but, the drive down The Old Road is beautiful and relaxing. On way to the hotel are several stores, restaurants, and fast food. JIB right in front, IHOP and El Pollo Loco right across street. AM/PM also across, BK and Taco Bell 2min down street. Plenty of sitdown and other food (street food too) right there. And area is quiet (currently our second stay with another already booked before end of year.
They staff have always been pleasant. Front desk, maids, breakfast lady, maids and others are all smiles and eager to help.
Pool not the fanciest but will get you wet when needed. A few areas for smokers to do their thing and not disturb others..
For the price, it is a pretty good stay. Minor, inexpensive repairs, could really give it a boost. Still staying in December and probably our 4 trips next year. Not going to have a mint on your pillow or turndown service but you will get a good night's sleep and...

-Broken room entry lever -Broken door latch -Broken outdoor key security door
We had booked Comfort Inn for 4 nights recently and had to leave after attempting to stay a few hours. Luckily the Marittot's Residence Inn took our party of four in after hearing our situation.
We arrived around at Comfort Inn around 5pm and once at our room noticed that door handle was very loose and hanging down ward and we had a hard time getting the key to work. We quickly saw that the room was very dirty and worn down and that there was hole in the bathroom door from what looked like a fist punched it. The pull out bedding in the closet hadn't been washed and blanket thrown in bag. The AC unit and fan was extremely loud with a clanking noise. However, we left fairly fast in order to get a few hours of Six Flags in before they closed and didn't deal with the hotel room until we returned.
Once we returned back to the hotel and went to open our room door we found that half the time you didn't need the key, you could just push the door open. The front office clerk came to verify and evaluate and said to just put the latch on and we'd be fine, but you could push right through that as well. Then the door handle completely fell off as the cleark kept attempting to get the door to lock. We were moved to another room. This room was even worse. There was blood on the wall and on the carpet. The clerk insisted it was a rust color carpet cleaner they used. There was mold all over the bathroom and the bedding was questionable. Basically both rooms were grose. Not just run down, but hygenically unclean.
But the scariest thing about this hotel is that when you walk down the hall half the doors and the frames look like they have been pried open and then just painted over to disguise it. It appeared to be the rooms furthest down the hall near the exit stairs, which was where both rooms we were put in were.
By the time we switched rooms it was midnight and I went to my car to hear two men aggressively fighting in the parking lot. Heading back into the building through the back parking lot entrance, the door security key lock was broken and the door unlocked.
We immediately grabbed our two daughters and left.
Not only was this hotel disgusting in hygene and cleaniness, this was the most unsafe hotel. In speaking with other hotel attendants they indicated that this Comfort Inn is located in a high homeless and crime area, but they were still surprised at the condition and environmental of the hotel and complete lack of safety for...
