In 2021 my wife and I started to shop for our bathroom & kitchen fixtures for our home remodel project and found ourselves at Ferguson in Santa Monica where we met Hannah Barnes. She was very knowledgeable about all of the products in the store, gave us thoughtful recommendations and expertly guided us to all the items we would need. Hannah always welcomed us and provided us with her time through multiple visits to the showroom and was always patient even with us reevaluating selected items. The customer service she provided far exceeded what we experienced from any other vendors and she also gave us competitive pricing. Due to the outstanding experience we had with Hannah, and after visiting other stores and vendors, we ultimately returned to make additional purchases with her, which included bathroom vanities, interior door and cabinet handles, and all of our kitchen appliances. Major remodel projects always come with their share of challenges, not to mention the unprecedented situation with COVID and throughout it all Hannah was always professional, supportive and solution oriented. Our home remodel project did not complete until April of 2022, and even with Hannah changing her job role and moving out of the area, she saw us through our remaining purchases, the delivery of all items, and ensured we were well taken care of and completely satisfied. Read moreI ordered a $12,000 refrigerator that was supposed to “ship” on October 24. Customers don’t care when something ships — we care when it arrives. If Amazon can tell me when a $10 item will show up to the hour, Ferguson should be able to tell me when a $12,000, 800-pound refrigerator will be delivered.
My only hope was to track it, so when the ship date passed and the online system still said “Oct 24" with no update, I tried calling and emailing. When I finally reached someone (2 days later), they said my fridge would now “ship” on Oct 31. But now I know I can't trust anything they say. And from where, exactly? From China by boat or a nearby warehouse? When will it actually arrive to my house? In 1 day or 30 days? No one at Ferguson has any answers.
I’m hosting an event for 100 people at my home on Nov 1, and despite spending $12,000, they offer zero service. For a company of this size, this level of disorganization is embarrassing. I've had better service from Etsy sellers. If the CEO Kevin Murphy can’t ensure his company knows where its own inventory is, he should be fired.
