This a coffee & bakeshop lover’s little paradise. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming coffee & bakeshop, with a nice patio area, and it exceeded my expectation. I met one of their staff, Remy, and assisted me on my selection to have a nice treat for myself during my daily coffee break. In addition to their outstanding coffee and extended menu for Tea, Breakfast all-day, salads, sandwiches and others, this coffee shop also offered a delectable selection of pastries and snacks. Their pastries were fresh, flavorful, and paired perfectly with their coffee. I tried the Basque Burnt Cheesecake and the Apricot Pistachio Scone, with a Latte, and it was very delicious! *Second visit, had the pleasure and honor to met the owner and head baker: Raimonda Gintaliene. What a great person to be in charge! Also met Bryan, who was assisting me during my second visit, and he was so kind, y habla español!* I tried the Blueberry Custard and Orange Cake, IT WAS AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!* Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or simply looking for a cozy spot to relax, Uppers is the place to be. I wish the best of success to the owner and keep doing a great job! Definitely I’ll come back soon, if I can find a parking spot… which have been very difficult in the area, but it’s worth the wait and try.

Honestly, I don’t know why this place has such good ratings. It’s a small place, and the menu is limited to mostly sandwiches and a few brunch items. There’s only one table inside; the rest is a bar with three stools (that don’t even reach the height of the table) and two small armchairs with a tiny table. We ordered the omelette and the Easy avocado toast, a coffee, and a bottled juice (no fresh juices available). I didn’t like the omelette because it was basically just the egg covering everything else, with some rustic potatoes on the side. My husband liked the sandwich. There was a variety of pastries that we didn’t try. We also ordered the soup of the day, which was a tomato basil cream. It was a large portion. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t extraordinary either.

I’m so glad that they are finally opened. The cafe is cozy and most of the decoration is done by the owners of the cafe. I’ve ordered cakes from Uppers Cafe & Bakeshop and OMG it always comes out the way I wanted or even better. Love the flavors of the cake (chocolate, peanut, walnut, coconut) they are all good. The picture of the cake was for my mom’s bday. She added details on the flowers , added butterflies, and a container in the inner middle of the cake that had a roll of $. Definitely made my mom super happy over her cake. Highly recommend having your special day cakes made here. Will definitely be coming back again to my brother bday cake made in December.

Uppers Cafe & Bakeshop has become my go-to spot whenever I'm in Santa Monica. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done over a great cup of coffee.

The pastries are absolutely delicious – you can tell everything is made fresh. I'm particularly fond of their croissants, which are perfectly flaky and buttery. Their coffee is consistently excellent, and the baristas clearly know what they're doing.

What really sets Uppers apart is the friendly staff. Everyone is welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. The space itself is clean and well-maintained with a cozy neighborhood cafe vibe that makes you want to linger.

Whether you're looking for a quick breakfast, a midday pick-me-up, or a relaxed afternoon coffee break, Uppers delivers every time. It's one of those local spots that makes the community feel special....

I wish I could give the food 5 stars because the service and cozy patio are. From the moment i walked in i was greeted by the friendliest staff person who just made you feel welcomed, at ease and happy. Knowledgeable about all the speciality items, accommodated all our food modifications, just a great guy. We tried the very interesting Scandinavian honey comb cake (you can’t miss it when you walk in) - slightly sweet and light as air and delightful with coffee. The banana orange cake was also light and moist, great for breakfast. Unfortunately the homemade bagel (which we got as a breakfast sandwich) and the breakfast panini lacked a bit of flavor and the side potatoes were dry and underwhelming, but the bacon was excellent. All in all, it gets the job done for breakfast, but i’d come back to try more pastries like the cheesecake and for the vibes. Good place to catch up...
