Ocean Luxury Lofts & Suites — Hotel in Santa Monica

Wish I could give this place no stars. Was supposed to stay here two nights but cut it short after the first one. We asked what the earliest time we could check in was and were told 12. When we arrived at 12 and called the number on the door he told us to come back in 30 minutes because the room was not ready. When we came back the room still hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests. He then told us we could only drop our bags off and can't check in until 3. When we came back at 3 the room still wasn't ready. (Our room was the last one to be cleaned even though we asked to check in early) 4 o'clock comes around and we can finally get into a somewhat clean room. The bed sheets were stained, chairs dirty, and the kitchenette was messy. The toilet didn't want to flush and the shower made a horrific sound when you turn it on ad there was still hair sticking to the shower wall. Not to mention sound carries in this building so if you are expecting a decent night of sleep, try somewhere else. The next morning we were sent our invoice and when I requested a discount since we weren't able to check in until 4 when normal check in time is 3 he said I can either pay full price or check out a day early. He said he was helping us out by letting us drop our bags off and gave us a "free upgrade" to a better room even though that room was the one in the pictures and if that was an upgrade I would be scared to see what the other rooms look like. The person running this place is a cheap, lazy, unprofessional child. I do not recommend. Spend your money elsewhere. Found a new hotel for $100 cheaper and we were able to check in...

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING – DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE This was by far the most revolting and nightmarish place we have ever had the misfortune of booking via booking.com. From the moment we arrived, we had to repeatedly call the owner just to get the access codes for the building and apartment, no one was responsive or helpful. Communication was abysmal, especially regarding parking. Once inside, we were genuinely horrified. The apartment was beyond filthy - outdated, damaged, and clearly never cleaned properly. The curtains were stained with huge red marks. The bed was a disgrace, covered in hairs and stains, like it hadn’t been changed since the last guest. The lighting barely worked, and the bathroom was absolutely vile. The bath had grimy stains and stray hairs, and the towels looked used and smelled dirty. At night, loud music from the downstairs bar pounded through the floors and walls until 2am. It felt like trying to sleep in the middle of a nightclub. When we asked for WiFi, we were ignored. To top it off, housekeeping barged in on us multiple times — first at 8am to get stashed towels for other guests from a cupboard in our room, and later to ask when we were checking out, even though we had another night booked. As if that weren’t enough, we saw a drunk man passed out on the stairs. Safety and hygiene are clearly not a priority here. This place is not only filthy and poorly managed, it’s a total scam! DO NOT STAY HERE FOR YOUR HEALTH! If I could give 0 stars I would, I have also filed a complaint with the health department this hotel needs to be shut down. Horrible management, unsanitary conditions, an awful experience. Upon check in we noticed there was an awful smell coming from the fridge, we tried to ignore it. There was a nightclub below our room that pulsated a base until 3 am, when I woke up at 4:30 AM to use the bathroom the toilet flooded the entire room and I had to figure out how to turn off the water, we called management and they said " do you realize it is 4:30 AM, can we deal with this later" AS THE HOTEL ROOM WAS FLOODING. Management left us without a room to move to, a solution, A BATHROOM and we were forced to leave at 4:30 AM, packing up our suitcases in TOILET WATER, meanwhile all the roaches started coming out and crawling all over the floor, there was one on the wall that was three inches in length. I have NEVER stayed in a more disgusting building with such AWFUL management, save your money, file a complaint with the health department and get this place shut down.
