From the moment I stepped into Palisades Park in Santa Monica, a few ago when I moved in, I knew I was in for a treat. This picturesque park, perched on the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean, offers more than just lush landscapes and panoramic views; it offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. It became over the years my daily go to.

The beauty of Palisades Park is mesmerizing. As I strolled along the meandering pathways, the sweeping views of the ocean took my breath away. The park is impeccably maintained, with vibrant flower beds, towering palm trees, and perfectly manicured lawns that provide a stark but harmonious contrast to the untamed beauty of the ocean beyond.

What makes Palisades Park stand out is its ability to provide a tranquil retreat that feels miles away from civilization, yet it's right in the heart of Santa Monica. The park's amenities, including picnic areas, benches perfectly positioned for sunset viewing, and informative historical markers, add to the enjoyable experience. The walking/jogging paths invite visitors of all ages to engage in physical activity, all while being surrounded by stunning natural beauty.

Children and adults alike can delight in the park's many sculptures and art installations, adding a touch of culture to the natural surroundings. The camera obscura, one of the park's hidden gems, offers a unique look at the surrounding area in a captivatingly historical context.

My visit to Palisades Park was nothing short of magical. The peace and calm I felt while watching the sunset over the Pacific, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the whispered tales of history, were moments I will cherish forever. It's a must-visit destination for anyone coming to Santa Monica. Whether you're seeking a spot for contemplation, a romantic evening, or a family outing, Palisades Park will not disappoint.

If you're seeking a place that combines natural beauty, history, and cultural significance, look no further than Palisades Park. It's a world-class park that merits more...

As a local wedding photographer in Los Angeles, I highly recommend Palisades Park in Santa Monica for wedding photos or casual portraits. The park offers amazing ocean views, beautiful greenery, and scenic walking paths, making it a perfect spot for capturing romantic moments. The palm trees and coastal vibe add a special touch to any photo session, creating a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere that’s great for couples.

Sunset is one of the best times to shoot at Palisades Park. The golden light spilling over the ocean and palm trees makes for a magical scene, creating soft, flattering light that’s perfect for portraits. Whether you're doing an intimate wedding session or just a casual shoot, the sunset really adds something special to your photos.

One thing to keep in mind is that the park can get busy, with people walking their dogs or enjoying the area. So, a little patience is needed to avoid having people in the background of your shots. But with some flexibility, you can find quiet spots to get the perfect photos. Overall, Palisades Park is a beautiful and versatile location that never...

Palisades Park of Santa Monica has spectacular ocean and beach views when looking south. Looking out to the left side is the Santa Monica Pier. To the right is the Santa Monica Mountains with Malibu up along the coast. I like to walk along the pathways lined with Mexican Fan palms and Canary Island palms with beautifully manicured landscaping along the way. There’s a calming effect with the sound and look of the blue sea on the shores, and the greenery where I go… The park land on the west side of Ocean Av is uninterrupted from start to finish. Trash containers are throughout the park, helping users keep it clean. Trendy restaurants and hotels line the east side of the street for several blocks, with upscale apartment buildings and condo’ complexes further north. The Oceana Hotel is at about the midpoint, at Idaho St. There’s restrooms available at the north and south ends and in between, across from the Oceana Hotel. Parking is on a first come, first serve basis alongside the park, at that midpoint. There’s also the prepaid metered parking, further down along Ocean Av. at the pier end...
