We arrived at Nautilus at 8:30p.m. Saturday, August 28, a day earlier than we were supposed to, due to trying to avoid the wrath of Hurricane Ida. It was supposed to cause tropical storm conditions in parts of Mississippi and Mobile, AL, both of which we drive right through. This was a spontaneous decision, and a trip that typically takes us around ten hours took 12, partly due to evacuees from New Orleans heading East, and partly because it was a Saturday, and the traffic started lagging in Mobile and the rest of the way from there. I contacted Nautilus and luckily, there was one extra night prior to our scheduled arrival in our specifically reserved unit, so we were able to go ahead and stay there. Nautilus also discounted the price for that night, which I thought was very good customer service. :-) We did have two and a half days of solid rain with closed beaches (there was no beach anyway...Ida's wind and rain had pretty much hidden it. Last couple of days beach reappeared to an extent, and water was trying so hard to return to the beautiful emerald clarity I've grown to love over the years. Back to the condo. Our unit was very nicely decorated and appointed, and very Clean, which is number one priority with me. I'd read another review somewhere about a room having roaches, and I can honestly tell you I didn't see one bug of any sort, much less a roach. Very clean and also smelled wonderful. We struggled with entry code on arrival, but a quick text and manager was there like the speed of light, very apologetic and fixed it right away; also gave us a restaurant coupon. Again, very good customer service. The condo was decorated so nicely and very comfortable which was more important than ever this trip, as the weather forced us to be in it more than usual. The appliances all were up to date and worked wonderfully. The built in icemaker was a lifesaver! The kitchen was very fully stocked with everything you could possibly need; they had good quality skillets and plenty of them. I can't tell you how many times I've had to go to purchase skillets, etc. due to such poor quality one's, or not one at all. This kitchen had any kind of cooking item you could possibly imagine. Dishwasher worked well, updated faucets, microwave worked very well, just a wonderful kitchen! I really can't say enough good things about this place...the view was spectacular as well with easy beach access. Oh, and the pool was very nice and clean as well. Highly recommend the Nautilus; I'm guessing as in all condo complexes, the units are individually owned so can only...
Read moreI loved the Nautilus! It checked all the boxes. Our unit had amazing views, it was a two minute walk to the beach with a three year old, and the staff were so welcoming and helpful! The unit had everything you could ask for, even a crockpot. The beds were comfy and’s the washer and dryer worked great! With a little one I end up doing a lot of laundry and I liked this washer and dryer more than the ones at home. One of the things I loved best was being able to watch the sunrise from bed (since my son needs cuddles in the morning so early morning walks on the beach aren’t happening right now). My son loved the beach but being a toddler he needed down time in the condo too. This unit (1206) was perfect because even when we weren’t on the beach it still felt like we were because of the amazing views. Watching dolphins play every morning from our balcony was the best.
This was my first time at fort Walton. The beach here is beautiful. And what’s really nice is there are a few public beach access points along the beach with public restrooms. So if you wander too far away from the condo there are bathroom options if you need it. Also, there are several restaurants that offer takeout close to the condo and an ALDIs, Publix, and Walmart. Traveling with a small child this is helpful and makes fort Walton such a great location.
I forgot to add, this unit and property was so clean! This is high value to me (pre-child I was a germaphobe). The unit was spotless and the first full day we were there they were doing their monthly treatment for bugs. They stay on top of things! And they were great to communicate with. They texted and had signs posted that they would be spraying that day. I let them know I was going to try and nap my son at two that day so they came to our unit first so as not interfere with nap time.
Also, the unit and property was so clean!
I’m not great at taking pictures but the ones I shared give you an idea. Though the ones I took from the condo don’t...
Read moreWe were originally booked in Navarre but the condo we were staying at was having renovation work and the owner gave us a opportunity to opt out because it was going to be noising and very dusty with all the concrete work the had to do. So disappointed we opted out but love Navarre beach. We booked this place costing us more money and it was a smaller condo. Once arriving, we noticed how out of date, dirty the place was. The master bed was terrible to sleep in. The bed had no springs from your back to your ankles once laying down. The decor was so outdated and did not match. We did have a side view of the beach. Very uncomfortable and I constantly had to fix the sheets on the bed. he ice maker had ice in it but was making a very loud noise. called maintenance, and he left note it was broke and turned it off. So we had to buy ice. To our surprise loud work was being done on the 7th floor and we were on the 6th. Luckily we werent right next to it but could still hear it. The floors were so sticky in the kitchen and master bath. You pay a cleaning fee but I dont think it was cleaned before us. You are provided 1 roll of toliet paper for a week stay per bathroom. 2 woman 1 each.....will not work. I laughed about that the whole time. I was stunned by that. The arm rest on the couch was so dirty and nasty......gross. The chairs on the balancy were so uncomfortable you couldnt sit there long, old plastic chairs. As an observation too, the decor was out of date and what was there didnt flow to together for a beach theme & the condo had no cozy feel. They have 1 elevator at each end of the condo. The one closest to the beach side you waited forever to get on it. Several times was waiting on the construction team carrying alot of equipment up to the 7th floor. We would not consider going back to this condo. It was our first time at a condo in Florida that gave us...
