OKALOOSA YUMMIES — Restaurant in Fort Walton Beach

I visited my daughter for a couple of days at Fort Walton, Florida for Memorial Day weekend just love it here. I am not familiar with the area as of yet but; would like to get to know this place it's really beautiful out here. So when I arrived at the base this morning the first thing my daughter mentioned to me was that she needed to take me to Okaloosa Donuts within the next few minutes so I could try them. Was looking forward to this; did not know what to expect. The location is in a great area near the beach. Their hours of operation is from 6am till 11am I see now why my daughter was in such a hurry to get me there first thing in the morning☺️. The people that work at the donut shop are very attentive and amazingly friendly to everyone. From what I saw standing in line they were very busy taking orders; keeping up with the pace while taking care of their customers and giving great service to them. I do understand why this place is well known around the area which in turn will keep their customers happy so they can continue coming back just like me. Loved how they explained to their customers what donut toppings they have along with what flavors and if they have any extra donuts in the back; if they do they will look and let you know. Which is helpful when trying to decide which one one would like. It did not take too long before we were able to put in our order and still by this time I had no clue what I wanted. I think I bought one of everything, LOL. The donuts are made fresh daily they are soft and they taste great not oily, old or dry. They are pretty big, delicious, nicely decorated and the price of the donuts are fair. This will be my go-to place when I come back up from Hernando county. Am looking forward to my next...

Quite possibly the best, most amazing, most wonderful doughnuts I have EVER had. These are not your regular doughnuts. No way. First of all, instead of cutting out the center to add filler-topping, it's pressed down so it doesnt leak all over the place. Then, creme brulee doughnut has the PERFECT thickness of burnt/melted sugar on top. (Literally more perfect than any other creme brulee dessert.) (I had one the next day and the top was still crunchy, the pastry wasn't stale at all, and the filling complemented the doughnut as a whole without being overly sugary.) The pastry flavor overall is simply wonderful - not greasy or oily, the perfect amount of sweetness, and has the best mouth and tooth-feeling when you bite into it. To top it all off, the people that work in there are some of the kindest, sweetest people. Genuine smiles and tempting me try the new things. They were excited because I was excited and it was fun!! (I left with all the creme brulee doughnuts they had left and I don't regret or feel bad about it.) I live 6 hours away and I WILL be making another trip down there! My favorite local donut spot. Long time local here and I've picked up a dozen+ donuts for my office every week for several years (through 2 different owners - current owners are my personal fav). Okaloosa Donuts/Yummies consistently delivers a product that everyone loves and I haven't found a better donut. Our office favorites are the cakes donuts (blueberry rules), boston creme, traditional chocolate w/sprinkles, the creme brulee donut, and the fritters. The staff and owners are as awesome as the donuts and they go out of their way to accommodate. They also have a wild array of decorative donuts for the kids - such as a donut with a chocolate shark, which I know I would have loved when I was a kiddo. If donuts aren't your thing, they have other items they rotate, such as pinwheels, kolaches, and there are whispers of a return of their legendary breakfast burritos (please #bringbacktheburrito!).

Anyhow, I am fan. And every time I go in and see a new tourist family going in for their first time and then the kids faces light up in awe over the donuts and its great.

Shout out to Brittany in the back who spends countless hours trying new recipes and variations of donuts for all of town to enjoy.
