The Inn of Saugatuck — Hotel in Saugatuck

I never left a negative review for a hotel before, but I needed to share my unpleasant experience. I was very disappointed with the food. Continental breakfast at chain hotels are much better. There was not enough food and the quality of food was poor. I was not a big fan of an old shower head either. I was literally appalled but not being greeted first. How rude!!! The owner and a person, who prepared food never acknowledged me being around or passing through the hallway. I said good morning to the cook the first morning and refused to say good morning the next day. She was extremely unpleasant. I have stayed at a few Bed & Breakfast places in the past and all the owners were always welcoming, outgoing, warm and very pleasant. It was a huge disappointment to stay at the Inn of Saugatuck for my 5 girlfriends & I. I didn't feel welcome there and will never stay there again. You're paying for the location of this B&B which I agree is great.|The rooms were clean and breakfasts were decent.|After those positives, the Inn is mediocre at best.|The Inn boasts "high end luxury bed and linens". Unfortunately, we experienced an old mattress that needed replacing and 100% polyester thin sheets and cheap pillows.|The Inn also lists "thoughtful details like quality sourced toiletries. I guess if you consider SUAVE ocean breeze body wash a quality sourced toiletry, then you've Nailed It!|I believe at one time, the Inn was probobably beautiful both inside and out. Now its just old and tired inside and in need of some serious TLC.|The rooms are not "comfortable", nor "charming", or "luxury" and certainty do not appeal to the "upscale traveler".|We as guests are more than happy to pay for "luxury" accommodations.|However, the Inn of Saugatuck either needs to be accurate in their website description or consider upgrading the...

You're definitely paying for the location of this Inn which I agree is great. Our room was clean and the breakfasts were good. After those positives the Inn is mediocre at best. The Inn boasts "luxury bed and linens" unfortunately; we experienced a worn out mattress that needed replacing with 100% thin polyester sheets and cheap pillows. The Inn also lists "thoughtful details like quality sourced toiletries". I guess if you consider Ocean breeze SUAVE body wash , a quality toiletry then you have nailed it. I believe at one time the Inn was probably beautiful both inside and out. Now, its just old and tired on the inside and in need of some serious TLC.
