My wife and I stayed here on a Wednesday night after Labor Day. We stayed in room 6. We parked in front of the inn. The view of the canal on the corner balcony was great! The location of the inn is fantastic. It is nearby a lot of restaurants, shops, and boat rental companies. We enjoyed our room overall. The bed was comfortable. We had a lot of pillows on the bed! We only had a shower and no tub. The water pressure was good. We had a flat screen lg tv. The room is a little dated. There were some stains on the 2 chairs in the room. Our inn keeper for the night was Judy. She was wonderful! We enjoyed talking with her. We asked her about breakfast for Thursday morning? We told her we didn’t really like eggs. She told us the breakfast for Thursday morning was a sausage breakfast pizza and she would make us a few pieces with no eggs. We came down for breakfast and the first thing she did was get our 3 pieces of sausage breakfast pizza. We loved the pizza! It was so good. It had sausage, gravy, and cheese. We also had a Buffet style bowl of fruit, apple bread, and other bread items. The breakfast included coffee and juice too. We loved our experience here. Unfortunately, a lot of shops and restaurants were closed on this Wednesday after Labor Day. We only had a couple options for dinner. There was live music in a nearby park on Wednesday nights from 7pm to 9pm. The music was great! I would recommend staying here during the spring or summer before Labor Day weekend! After Labor Day business hours are shortened for many shops and restaurants. ||Ps the outside jacuzzi was not working...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary as a little weekend getaway. First the location is fantastic and loved being right on the river. We unfortunately had to switch rooms during our stay due to availability. The 1st night we were in room 6 with small patio area over looking the river and the new Barge bar and restaurant. If you don't like people looking at you while on your patio this is not the room for you. Also can be loud until about 10pm. This however did not bother us all that much. Then we moved to room 5 (room next door) smaller but quieter with small patio over looking the street. ||A note about breakfast (served starting at 8-?) more buffet style instead of traditional b&b. They had a warm breakfast item along with continental items. We enjoyed breakfast on the outside communal deck over looking the river. |One thing I wished they had was a small pool to dip in since during our stay it was hot and river is too busy with boats! They had 2 lounge chairs and a hot tub. ||Small updates with the entire building appear needed but overall we enjoyed this place for a weekend trip. Maybe would consider elsewhere for a larger group and...
Read moreMy friend and I recently stayed here and had an amazing time! Everyone who works at the inn is so friendly and personable and the location is just a short 3-7 min walk to shops, cafes, restaurants, coffee shops etc. The view is amazing from the main level and overlooks the river with boats passing by all day. There’s a deck where you can sit out back and have breakfast or just relax. They serve breakfast every morning ranging from quiche to homemade muffins & fruit. They even went above and beyond to make me homemade gluten free breakfast to accommodate my gluten allergy! There’s a free shuttle service you can call to go anywhere nearby as well. Saugatuck itself has so much to do and is also near Oval Beach, Holland & South Haven which are all great places to check out as well. The only downside is it is very hard to find parking and if you can’t find a spot, your only option is parking at a high school about a 10 minute walk away. Overall, this was my first time to the area and I was...
