On my way through from Virginia to Utah with my 3 year old son. Got in at about 10pm Saturday night. When i asked the gentleman at the counter if there were any rooms available. He said yes and quoted me a price that was about $15 more than what I saw on Priceline.com.||||When I asked about the online price, he told me that I would need to book through the site to get the price. He then gave me the password to the wifi so I could do so. Since it was so late in the day, Priceline required payment in order to reserve the room. I paid it and the room was reserved.||||A few minutes later, the gentleman at the counter told me he received my reservation information and that it would be $63.24. I told him that I had already paid and that the balance had been deducted from my account. After about 20 minutes of talking, I paid for the room with a different card since my son needed to get to bed.||||I called Priceline and asked them if they could help me. The lady on the line was extremely helpful. However, the hotel staff was not. While the Priceline rep was trying to get him to refund me the charge, he ended up charging me a 3rd time. I have now paid $189 for this room.||||It took 4 days and several calls to the hotel's Customer Relations department, I finally got 2 of the charged refunded. I'm happy to have the money back but I had to adjust my budget for the rest of the trip and give up a couple tourist stops.||||Now, on to the room itself. As I walked to the room, there was a couple fighting on the balcony outside their room. Not the hotels fault but, from the other reviews, this is a common occurance. The room as a whole was dusty, the front door did not close completely and light was visible around the frame, the bathroom door appeared to have been kicked in at some point and the doorknob latch was missing. There were urine stains on the toilet seat and in the shower. ||||Once I got over those issues, I went to crawl into one of the beds. As I went to pull the sheets back, they looked as though the bed was only made up and not actually wash or re-sheeted. I ended up sharing the other bed with my son.||||The next morning, I asked the, now different, gentleman at the the counter about the charges. He spoke very little English and I could not get anything other than him pointing repeatedly at the reciept I was given.||||Also, in an attempt to show me that I would have only been charged once, he gave me a copy of what looked like a ledger from the night before that had all of the names, phone numbers, and addresses of all of the people that had stayed there in the last few nights. I promptly put it back on the...
Read moreThis was a horrific nightmare. Not only did I not get the room I reserved, but the room I did get wasn't even no-smoking. The room next door is clearly labeled as no-smoking, whereas ours was not - and it had an ashtray! The bedding was clean, which was small consolation compared to the disrepair of the rest of the room. The shower head was mounted at around 54" so even the shortest person in our travel party (see image) couldn't shower properly. I was told that this was a 'comparable' room because it was handicap accessible, but it doesn't not meet the clearance requirement of 32 inches (actual measurement was 29"). And yes, I traveled with a tape measure because I was inspecting investment properties.
I asked to speak to the manager and they refused to take my contact information to address my complaints. They also refused to refund the difference between the room I reserved and the room I was given. I was told that they didn't even have a King room available, because they are all being remodeled. She went even further and indicated that it was somehow my fault that I reserved a room they didn't have!
The hotel claims that coffee is available in the lobby 24 hours a day. They forgot to mention that the lobby is locked between the hours of 11pm and 8am. Was I supposed to ask the night attendant to make my coffee just the way I like it? Seriously, pass this one by and stay at a...
Read moreThe room was in need of some attention!!! We arrived late in the evening tired and ready to go to bed. Next morning we found some things wrong with the room that were disturbing. The floor lamp did not have a bulb in it and the top part of the fixture was hanging out of the socket. There was something that looked like a big dead bug on the floor in front of the night stand. There was a long piece of tile missing from the floor next to the wall between the bed and bathroom as well as a hole in the wall near the floor. There was dirt in the sink. The handy cap bar in the bathtub wall was missing, Leaving two big open holes, the cover for the drain toggle was fastened to the side leaving another big open hole in the tub as well as there was no drain cover over the tub drain leaving another open hole. This looked to me more like a rent by the hour room than a rent to regular travelers room. They do not serve any kind of breakfast, although there are several restaurants and fast food places near by. When we arrived around midnight, there were only two or three other cars on the lot, it was the same when I got up at 7am! This Red Roof Inn has two floors. If the rest of the rooms was anything like the one we got I can understand why. This was the nastiest Red Roof Inn we've stayed in. We like Red Roof when we travel for their clean economical...
