I live here in town and we will spend the little bit extra to come here every single time. Every birthday, every time we just need to get away for a night, any special occasion. Grab a pizza or two, some drinks, your best friend- perfect.
Also, the store manager was crazy hospitable. We had our furnace replaced and needed a place to stay for the night. We had no idea what to expect, but she made our stay worth the uncertainty. She told us she was working a pretty lengthy shift… longer than anyone should have to work, but despite her long hours, she still made sure we were safe and comfortable, asked if there was anything else she could do for us, offered excellent deals on beverages, etc. By the way, breakfast was spectacular! So wholesome. Delicious. There were fresh eggs, baked biscuits, of course waffles, but also four different kinds of fruits for toppings, and another 4 or so syrups, followed by all the cereals, juices, and so much fruit! There was bacon, sausage, gravy, and so much more.
We came in by the seat of our pants and left calm, well rested, and full of warm and delicious food!!
We will 10/10 be coming...
Read moreOur family was going on vacation and broke down around 7:30pm on a Friday night in Sheldon, IA on our way to Grand Rapids from Omaha. We did not know a think about Sheldon. So we could see the Holiday Inn sign and made it there but they were full. But they recommended the Cobblestone right behind them. Went to the Cobblestone and they had ONE room left. Problem is that we have 8 people in our vehicle. They understood our delima and even tho they are not supposed to they let us all stay the night and accommodated us best they could. They really went way above and beyond in helping us in our desperate need. We did not know when our vehicle could be repaired or how long it might take and the Cobblestone worked with us so graciously. They made us feel like it was their privilege and honor to help us. We are so grateful. These are just good people who really care about their customers. We are...
Read moreA low-end hotel which would be fine if the price reflected it (~$180 for a double queen in mid-August).
The beds were comfortable and everything was relatively clean. It's new hotel so that helps with the experience but it's the sort of place you can imagine becoming run-down in a relatively short amount of time. The breakfast offering was very basic and uninspired.
When we arrived, they were having technical difficulties with their room cards so they gave everyone housekeeping cards which can open any room in the hotel. The clerk was a little sheepish about it and I'm not sure she really intended on disclosing that to me but I'm kinda glad she did. Iowa Nice is a thing but that doesn't mean that I'm leaving my laptop in an effectively unlocked hotel room...
