First, the good: Decent breakfast, with fair amount of variety. Clean rooms

The not so good: Complete lack of trust for anyone that might be using the in room safe. Details forthcoming.

Room cleaning personal are less than accommodating.

Room rates

Bath tub is not for older folks. Very dangerous getting in and out. Also no anti-slip on bottom of tub.

House keeping doesn't ensure the hotel provided bathroom condiments are full, I ran out of bath wash.

Ok, the reason for the security ding is this.

When I got to my room and while putting my valuables in the room safe i noticed the previous occupants left a couple items in the safe. My intentions were to take the items to the front desk the next morning, however I was running late and forgot about taking them to the front desk. I figured I could take of this when I got back to the hotel that evening. However when I got back to my hotel room to retrieve these items and to get my meds I could not open the safe. What had transpired while I was out was the hotel maintenance personnel had opened the safe, without any notice to me, and retrieved the items that were left as well as my own phone power charger adapter.

The issue is there was no notice to me that anyone had come into my room, opened the safe, took out items left in the safe, as well as some of my personal items. No message on phone, no written notice, nothing left at front desk, no phone call, nothing. I guess they thought they could be in and out leaving no trace. The only way I knew something was a miss was I could not open the safe due to the fact when they used the pass key it reset the locking mechanism. This is nothing short of a major breach of trust. So beware this hotel operates with no regards to ones personal property of occupants locked in the room safe.

As for house keeping I practically had to beg to have my sheets replaced due to black material I accidentally spilled on my sheet.

Overall I am very disappointed with this property that I would not...

Just stayed here while on a Memorial Day weekend golf outing. We had 14 guys in our group. I set the package up with Sherri(GM). She was amazing to work with. Everything was done in a timely fashion. Any questions I had were answered within days. Very easy to communicate with Sherri. The hotel is very clean and at a convenient location off the interstate. Staff is extremely pleasant. In fact they treat you like family. Check in was done in minutes. The rooms were spotless and well stocked. Beds very comfortable, in fact one of the guys wants to know what kind of mattress he had. He would like to buy one. Shower had great water pressure. Sherri was kind enough to give me and my roommate an upgraded room. It was a one bedroom suite. Featured a seperate bedroom, another bed in the main room, living room area with a sofa bed. The bathroom had a tub/shower that could fit four people in it. I guess that's why the room was a "Family Suite". The room also had a little kitchenette area with a sink, micro and fridge. Paper plates and plasticware were up in the cabinet above the sink. Everyone in the group had nothing bad to say about the rooms. The pool area was clean and well stocked with towels. Hot tub was very relaxing. The patio area out back has a 3 hole putting green. Nice sitting area with a little pond. Breakfast was good. Nice selection of things to eat. Hot food was always full. Everything else was always well stocked. They even have one of those pancake machines that makes pancakes in a minute!! This hotel offers so many little extras like the evening snacks that they have. Ice cream, popcorn and cookies. There is a little card that comes with your room key that has pool times, breakfast times plus other hotel info. I would not and will not hesitate to book here again, in fact I will be booking here for next year's golf outing. Great job...

We stayed at this hotel in August by happenstance, looking for a place to stay and break up the drive from NY to Michigan. We had a very positive experience with this hotel then and specifically made reservations here last week and again last night. These experiences were both as positive as our first visit. ||Pluses: |Easy access to I-80|Friendly and welcoming staff -- everyone we interacted with was top notch! |Comfortable room and bed |Choice of room options-- we had one with a king bed and small sitting area|Free snacks |Free breakfast |Sustainability is valued ||Other comments/hints: |* We didn't have time to use the pool, gym, or other amenities but they have them so check them out!|* If you have mobility issues, be sure to let the staff know. Our room had a large bathtub which was fine for us but might be hard for some people to get in and out of. |* Coming from I-80, take PA state road 18 going north. Spangler Road, which goes to the hotel is to the right just before a sign that welcomes you to Hermitage. There's also a small sign pointing to the Holiday Inn but it's hard to see in the dark and the hotel isn't visible from that place on the road.|* The hotel is close to town where there are loads of dining and carry out options. Just return to PA-18 and go several more miles to the north. | * It took us awhile to figure out the TV channel options -- there are a lot of channels. We never found a single listing of all channels but did figure out that you can enter three digits to get channels with a dash in the channel number.
