Stayed in The Western. Strange layout with tons of wasted space. Loft bedroom and downstairs bedroom are both sooo far from the bathroom. Loft room has very scary stairs especially for late night bathroom trip, stairs are meant to have certain spacing etc for safety, their stairs are very skinny and seem to be spaced too closely(think Victorian age stairs but just a hair wider!) Literally feel like someone will die on them. All concrete floors, metal rails at the base of said stairs. Left a pillow and an expensive metal water bottle and my request to have them shipped to me was met with an email 5 days later saying they'd have the housekeeper see! . Never heard another word about them š I can tell they tried but feels very much like someone just threw it together, no experience in hospitality prior to starting this type of business. Odd decor that doesn't match, they hang towels for you in bathroom making one wonder if they've been used. (Hook style holder not towel bars.) Seen way better appointed air bnbs. Unit could have been cleaner as well, the barrel style sink base needed vacuumed of lint and debris at sink surround. Obvious drip of something on fridge door as well. Nice location but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Nelson Inn is easily the best small town hotel Iāve stayed in. The room was an actual two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with a keypad lock and a balcony overlooking Main Street. Full sized appliances in the kitchen and a very spacious living room with Hulu on the TV. We parked in the street as there is a massive crater in the alley. Thereās also plenty of good restaurants and cafes near the Inn, as well as a liquor store across the street (note: you can only buy beer and wine in liquor stores, not in convenience stores).
The only real downside is that the Nelson Inn is located in Sheridan and the Sheridan cops do nothing but drive up and down Main Street looking for revenue sources. If you have Wyoming plates, no big deal. If you have out of state plates, you will be pulled over for āspeedingā no matter what your speed. The ticket is $100. That experience was enough to put me off from stopping in Sheridan ever again, which is a bummer because the Nelson Inn hotel was outstanding and the food we had was delicious, plus itās on the way to visit my family in a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed in the upstairs suite 'B' of the Heritage building. It's a nice place to stay for two couples, feels like a home. The suite had a very large living room, a full kitchen and dining area along with the two nice bedrooms and the single bath. We had a great time while we were in Sheridan and the central location of the Nelson Inn made exploring downtown a breeze. The only criticism I have is that the suite could have been cleaner; It's an older building so it could use a really good deep cleaning (floors, baseboards and windows / sills) as well as better between-guest cleanings (some personal stuff was left up on higher shelves in the closest / some...
