Best Western Shippensburg Hotel — Hotel in Shippensburg Township

I am a retired police officer, now physically disabled and retired. ||||I have Type 2 Diabetes with neuropathy, I also have low vision and most recently...cancer. ||||I have made my funeral arrangements bc I really don't expect to live much longer. ||||My wife and I have been frequent visitors to Best Western Shippensburg over the years and are diamond members. My trips to the hotel pool etc...serves as an escape from my physical pain that is always with me. ||||I am writing this review, and unfortunately it is about the behaviors of Pat, the Breakfast Lady. ||||She was very rude and on the morning before my experience with Pat, I observed her harass a young girl. The color of her skin was black. By the way that Breakfast Lady treated me a day later, I now believe that this was Racial Discrimination. ||||On the following morning, Breakfast Lady attempted to harass me and this started bc I was using a cardboard coffee cup. She laughed at me when I informed her about my physical disability. She progressed to tell me that I was not a good person and she laughed at my disability and also my religion. ||||These are violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA.Gov)||||I informed her that she was being reported to the front desk Manager. She followed me down the long hallway to the front desk and she made fun of my disabilities and my Religion. ||||My wife was present to witness this woman speak with her misery and contempt. ||||She is an embarrassment to the Best Western chain and her employment should be terminated. ||||I was unable to finish my breakfast bc of her. This was something that we have always enjoyed. ||||On this same day, I later fell flat on my back due to my neuropathy. The hotel Manager was summoned and he helped me to get back up, from the floor. He is an example of treating Hotel Guests with Respect. ||||Once again, I was treated in a extremely horrible manner by the Breakfast Lady. As a former Chief of Police, I was responsible for training my men in areas involving people with physical disabilities.||||There is no amount of training which could correct the behaviors of this vile woman. ||||Shame on her and Shame on Best Western....

We stayed here for the Uprise Festival so a Friday and Saturday night. Called on both Thursday night and Friday morning requesting early check-in both time got told it would be fine no problem. But when we at 2:15 for our early check-in we were told we're not doing doing that I did one and got yelled at so no more early check-in. Then can back at check in time and it was a giant cluster there was a group of people standing in a line waiting to check in and the would randomly point at someone and just say they were next not going in the order of the line at all. This caused us to miss an act at the festival because of timing messed up by the hotel. Then the room only has the see through curtains so car headlights and street lights shine right into the room and people can see into the rooms. They have what look like thicker cutians but they are not on a track and just tacted up. The bathroom portion has a tub shower combo but doesn't have a drain stopped so it could only function as a shower. The soap provided by the hotel is extremely drying I would bring your own. I didn't even try the shampoo bc of how drying the soap was and they are the same company. Then they didn't clean the room even tho it was asked at check-in and they were told yes. The breakfast is a joke they have premade breakfast sandwiches and burritos but no way to heat them up. They did have cereal and milk and oatmeal but no fruit. They had a working making waffles however they didn't have any syrup. Also this worker would go from cleaning to making waffles without cleaning hands or changing gloves. If you're gonna not change the gloves don't wear them at all. While we did not use the pool ourselves we walked by it and the amount of chemicals you could smell from outside the window that were closed is a...

Stayed a couple of days here and was completely disgusted.

Called customer service and they told me the only thing to do would be to give me a credit for a future stay at Best Western. Why in the hxxx would I want that. Completely useless. NEVER STAY AT A BEST WESTERN EVER!

Not impressed with the quality of this hotel. The staff was fantastic but the cleanliness and quality is VERY poor. Traveled for business and was close to my destination. Fitness center - every machine was broken Breakfast - food warmer broken and no hot breakfast unless I wanted the server to microwave it 1st Room 118 (i think) - original room was a king and the gal working on 12/3 was great and did not hesitate moving me as my neighbors were having a good time and being a little loud. 2nd Room 126- horrible, no hand towels, no soap, floor was dirty, hair in the shower. i literally felt more dirty in this hotel than I have in any other hotels in my life. And I travel a lot and stay at some not so nice places at times. Floor was dirty - in all just nasty. I asked for a manager and one of the staff members stated they did not know when he would be in. Actually stated "we never really know when he will be in, just kind of shows up whenever." Real nice to hear so I did not have the chance to discuss personally. Needless to say horrible experience and I will NEVER stay at any hotel that is represented by BEST WESTERN (as I now call it WORST...
