Wow! I’m already planning my return trip. I stayed here with several friends for a girlfriends’ getaway. We chose this location as we wanted to meet midway between our homes. We loved it! The castle, steeped in some amazing history, is a beautiful building in itself. You can look past the collectibles and really see gorgeous craftsmanship. A binder in each room allows for a self-guided walking tour through the mansion. The history that the owners know about this home is unparalleled to any museum I’ve toured. ||We loved meeting Victoria, the owner, and her beautiful dog, Winston. We appreciated that the home is a family business and they take great care of all of their visitors. I broke my glasses and they provided super glue. More bacon at breakfast? We didn’t even have to ask. Krista, the amazing lady who cooked our perfectly wonderful breakfast is a real asset to the business. She attended to our every need with a smile. ||The spa is very good. I’ve had many spa treatments in the past and you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend the stone massage and the four-layer facial. Christine and Andrea are top-notch at what they do. ||The breakfast was quite good. We loved the fruit, and it was perfectly ripened. The eggs and bacon were very good. The pancakes had perfect fluff! ||The rooms were perfectly appointed. Lotion? Three bottles. Makeup remover towelettes? Four. Luxurious sheets? No worries. They even trust guests to light their fireplaces after a tutorial. We loved this! ||We wished we had had more time on Sunday to really look at the historical artifacts in the house. Next time!||One suggestion: if you give yourselves the self-guided tour, ask permission to go to the third floor of the mansion. You might get the history before going up. It will mean so much more. I won’t add a picture of this huge room. You have to see it for yourselves....
Read moreOur daughter bought us a one night stay with apple cider {we don't drink}, a fruit tray and f90 minute massages and foot scrubs. Neither of us had ever experienced any of that. We were VERY pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the spa treatments were, how kind and friendly the massage therapists were, and how thoughtful all the staff were to us. The room we stayed in was so sweet and clean, the bed was as high as my waist (I'm only 5'1) but there was a set of very sturdy steps to get into and out of bed. The homemade breakfast was wonderful and very tasty. Huge pieces of bacon, cheesy scrambled eggs, which I don't care for eggs but these were wonderful so coming from me that means a LOT, HAHA, and they even warmed the muffins. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even offering a cell number for during the evening or night if we needed anything. It was a wonderful stay and we had a great time. It is VERY peaceful too which one would not expect being in town. Many places to eat are close by and listed in the notebook in each room. We would LOVE to come again someday. The history of the castle is amazing and the building is absolutely incredibly beautiful. So much craftsmanship there. Don't miss out on this little...
Read moreWe went for a massage package. Mother daughter trip. It was incredible! Just really different. Cute castle vibe, did not stay the night though. Lunch was included with our package and it was amazing! Greens were extremely fresh, chicken still warm and perfectly seasoned, croutons clearly home made and delicious! All toppings were in little containers so you could add what you wanted, tomotoe, hand cut carrots, cheese, mushroom, peppers, cucumbers, and super cute little cubby to eat. The massages were the best I have ever had. I had Randi and would recommend her. Absolutely amazing! My daughter's massage was also good, but she hasn't had many to compare it to so I can't state the best. I however get frequent massages and it may be worth it for me to drive 2 hours again....Facial was great. Felt very comfortable and it was just a cool different experience that I would recommend to anyone. Especially for a mother daughter bonding trip. Family run and owned which for me is extra special to know it isn't a big business and you are treated extra kind. It was a one of a kind experience and would...
